So I know Laptops have a equivalent version of the Desktop GPUs, but are they as good?

To put it simple.... no

Laptops just simply cannot compete performance-wise with a similar specced PC. I'd dare say a £1,500 PC would out perform a £2,500 laptop

Theyre often cut down low power versions prefixed with an "m". They are quite good but will never measure up to their desktop counterparts. As we all know, power = size and heat.
