It may also be worth noting that all 3 games have worked perfectly at some point on Ultra settings. This issue persists even in low detail.

What anti virus are you using?

Have you installed any driver updater?

Where is the game installed from? Steam or somewhere else?

I am using the Windows default anti virus.

Driver updater? I use the Nvidia driver control panel if that's what you mean?

Steam, Battle Net and Origin. So 3 different platforms.

Thanks again for helping me with this.

Cool, thanks.

So firstly, make sure that Bullguard isn't installed as it's been known to cause various issues.

Secondly, try fully uninstalling your GPU driver with DDU:

Then it will reboot, try reinstalling the full driver, don't use geforce experience to install it, install direct from nvidia.

Whenever you're updating a driver, you have to make sure you select a clean install, otherwise issues like this can persist, I'm not saying that's the cause of this issue, just something worth doing each time.

Then we'll see where we're at then.

Last thing we can test is thermals under stress:

Install HWMonitor:

Then firstly run the heaven benchmark which only stresses the GPU, monitor GPU and CPU temps throughout:

Then do the same with Prime95 which stresses the CPU, again, monitor CPU and GPU temps throughout:

OK, thanks!

I just ran it for 10 mins with the first one:

MAX temps for CPU was 78 and GPU 83

I have no idea how to use Prime95!

As well as the above tests, shut down the PC completely and take out one of the RAM sticks. Apply your tests. If it is still there, shut down and swap the RAM sticks over and try again.

How long have you had the system? Has it worked at all?

PCS's next move would likely be to completely wipe the entire system so I would suggest you just do that before sending it off... if all the testing fails. You will need a decent sized USB drive.

Download the Media Creation tool from Microsoft.
Install x64 bit Windows onto the USB

Download the latest chipset drivers from Intel
Download the latest GPU drivers from Nvidia

Copy both over to the USB

Completely wipe the system, removing all partitions and completely cleaning the drive
Install Windows
Install the Chipset drivers from the USB that you downloaded
Do the same with the GPU
Run Windows Update multiple times till everything is up to date
Download Steam and install the game you were trying.

See what's what.

If that doesn't work, it's likely to be a wild goose chase.

Hi both, as far as I can tell the system is working as it should because the performance (disregarding the issue that I want to solve) is excellent. The games run well for the most part.

How much storage will I need to download those things? Is the intel chipset what I need despite having the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Six Core CPU?

The frustrating part is that the games have worked perfectly in the past. What does this suggest to you?

Thanks.
