GTX 295 cooling

Hi I've had my GTX 295 for nearly 2 years now, but its been overheating alot lately, going well into the 100c + sometimes 110 before it cuts out. I was wondering on any ways in which I could cool this card, as recommended by the help line I will get some compressed air to clean it properly, but it has always run for too hot for my liking, 80c Idle! Also I was thinking of investing in a cooling loop through my system to combat my heating issues, unfortunately no local PC repair place will do it any advice?? or other ways to keep my pc cool?

I have a Core2 Quad 3.0ghz
Nvidia gtx295
8gb ram
Coolermaster HAF 932 case
i have a high RPM fan for my cpu, its temps stay around 40c, 45c under load.

This card is always going to be hot, dual gpu and all.

However i would agree that water maybe the only way to go and as the warranty on the card is probably nearly up voiding it by adding a block may not be that much of a waste.

Things to note are though that making your own custom loop is:

  • a hell of a lot of fun
  • addictive
  • risky
  • expensive
