GTX 580 - Minimum PSU needed 800+? Quick question.

Hey guys, just a quick question.

Was having a look at my spec.. And decided to click on the little question marks next to all the parts. Now I was planning to get A GTX 580 and a 750w PSU to go with it...

However, when I clicked on the question mark, the site tells me the minimum PSU requirement a GTX 580 will need is a 800w. :wacko:


Is it worth upgrading to from my 750 to a 850? Or will it be fine as a 750? If I can save money, I might as well.

Going to be using the pc for mainly gaming.

If you spec up your rig, then click proceed at the bottom of the page, it will tell you if a 750W is large enough or not

Okay.. now that's weird... when I click proceed, it tells me I only need a 600w! But I just read the minimum a 580 requires is a 800w.

Now I'm confused...

If you are only running 1 GTX580 all you need is a 650W PSU (always stick with a branded PSU like the corsair)

Okay, thanks Fear. This can be closed now. I will stick with a 750w PSU.
