I work from home and I am looking to purchase a new PC. I haven't purchased a PC for years so out of touch with whats good and what isn't.

Uses

- Photoshop CS4
- Video editing
- minimal autocad / sketchup work
- MS Office
- High Internet use

Requirements

- Future proof
- Would like SSD for running applications
- 1 TB data storage HD
- minimum of two 22" monitors / four preferable

No set budget but looking to spend around £1500.00

Any help appreciated!

Can't quite get 4 monitors in that budget without really cutting back on the main rig. If you must have 4 monitors, they are probably easier to buy later if possible rather than cutting back on the spec of the computer itself.

The above is what i would advise, it is a nice well ballanced spec for your needs. Good cooling with a quality PSU and i added a 2TB drive because it's not that much more.

Just to point out on mantadogs spec above although it's a good build for what you are doing if you want the option of 4 screens you would need to take the motherboard up a notch because you would need to add a second GPU as the GTX560Ti only supports 2 monitors and that motherboard is not capable of running 2 nvidia graphics cards (Sli) and i have not worked it out but it may also need a 750W PSU aswell for that upgrade.

Good spot by fear their!

I had originally put in a 7850 but removed it in favour of a 560ti for the CUDA cores which might help with editing when i realised i couldn't get 4 monitors in budget. However i forgot to point that out, so yeah!

It would probably be cheaper to run something like a 7850 as you can run 4 monitors from it without a motherboard upgrade or a bigger PSU. I would do that rather than run 2 GPU's just to get 4 displays.

Cheers for the help. Forgot to mention in first post that it was 1500 excluding VAT. It's given me a starting point anyway, I will probably leave the four monitors for the time being and stick with two and look to get the other two later in the year.
