High budget PC check

Although this is a high budget PC I'm looking for a little future proofing as well. I was going to go Solid State on the hard drives but they are too small at the moment. It will be used for Editing photos, streaming large media files to a laptop, a PS3 2 XBox's and maybe my older PC until it totally dies...

I wouldn't spend so much on the motherboard unless you're planning on overclocking or running multiple graphics cards, something like a Asus M4A79XTD would be a better idea. The cooling is overkill unless you plan on overclocking but if you're wanting a quieter PC you could get the standard CoolIT ALC and the power supply is again overkill unless you're going to be running 3-4 graphics cards, I'd go with the HX750 instead. It would be worth picking up the silver warranty as well.

Chriss i would change the 3 Year Standard Warranty (1 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) to silver not saying anything will go wrong but for 5 pound it changes to 3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) (£5 well worth it i would go soild state on first drive then the 2tb then am sure u can still add more or get 2tb external from what i herd booting from ssd very nice and fast

Just to add to the comments made so far, I would change the secondary hard drive to a Caviar Green model. There's very little point having anything other than the primary drive as a Caviar Black unless you're running them in a RAID configuration. This should save you a few pennies and will be a bit quieter too.

Just to be clear are you intending on overclocking or not?? and yes all the above advice is sound!

No, not overclocking. I'm looking at the PC long term. I like the idea of Solidstate as the boot up drive

Ok then to sum up;

- Downgrade Motherboard to something like the M4A79XTD EVO or M4A89TD Pro/USB3 - no need for the Crosshair as you won't OC.
- Downgrade to the CoolIT ECO - the 240 is not needed as you're not overclocking.
- Downgrade PSU to the TX750/TX850 - 1200W is waaaay over the top for this specification
- Downgrade 2nd HDD to Caviar Green - up to you, I personally wouldn't (no particular reason) but I know a lot would.

- Add the Silver Warranty for £5.

You'll save a fortune but still get almost identical performance :D
