How to take Apart Palit RTX 2060 Super to clean and reapply thermal paste (details below)

Hi, I purchased a Pc from PC Specialist in September of 2020. I know how to take the PC apart, however, inside is a (palit) rtx 2060 super (Serial number: B5200038635) I desperately need to re apply some thermal paste, as my gpu is reaching 98c. However, it seems impossible to find all of the screws to take the gpu apart to reapply thermal paste. Does anybody have any instructions or a tutorial on how to take this Specific gpu apart to clean, the i can find are not fort this card. I have attached images here (not my images) on what the card looks like:

You don't repaste a GPU, and they don't use thermal paste anyway, they use pads.

Could you post your full specs?

It's not going to be a paste issue, it will either be poor design airflow or a fan not working or it's been over locked too far.

Both fans work, i guess it just needs blasting with compressed air, but it still seems impossible to take the card apart

Yeah that's not really a thing mate, it's an incredibly intricate and difficult task to do and most cards these days use pads as opposed to paste that you can't really "repaste". can you let us know what's happening or what you're doing to reach 98C?

On some GPU's it's a piece of cake and not a difficult job at all, on others it can be a total nightmare. There are heaps of videos online about how to repaste the 2060 Super, but you're unlikely to find one for the Palit brand sepcifically I would have thought. It will either be thermal paste renewal or swapping out the thermal pad - just making sure the new one is the same thickness as the old one if it's the latter that's required.

My guess it is just the four main screws in your image are holding the heatsink to the main board, so I'd expect that removing those four would get you access to the chip, similar to more mainstream brands. The other screws will likely be VRM heatsinks or other hardware and should be left alone. But there is wiring and other bits and bobs that can be easily damaged in the process of removal so you'd want to be very careful what you do. Palit should be able to tell you how to do it if they recommend it in the first place.

As @Rakk says though you will be voiding the warranty on a GPU instantanteously as soon as you turn any screwdriver on top of a screwhead - perhaps that's not a big deal for you given it's almost 16 months old now?

Having said all that, the gang here will be able to help diagnose exactly what the problem is in the first place. I would be strongly inclined to ask for advice from them first before you throw any nuclear options at your problem.
