What are you using the PC for ? also are you going to be using 3 monitors or just a single because 1 of those cards is more than enough for a single monitor.

Do you mind if I ask why you need to crossfire now, a single 7970 should be able to max out everything on two screens. Then you can wait for the prices to drop a little and then you can get another.

I would get one 7970 for now and then add another in a year or two time. That way it will end up cheaper and you will have more power for longer. But it is your choice.
