Intel I7 10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X

Hey guys!

So I'm looking for some advice as to which processor I should be going for. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff so be kind lol. I'm looking to have a gaming desktop that can also handle me using it for office work as well. The big question is.. Intel or AMD. I've looked at many sites and at first I was leaning towards Intel, however, the more I read, the more people say AMD is the way to go forward. I'm completely clueless and totally lost. It's between the Intel I7 10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X.

I figure you guys would be a good bunch to ask! Can anyone help? Like I say, gaming and office work and I want it to be able to handle both with no struggles.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I think I do have my answer. AMD is the way to go.. by a long shot I think. That was extremely helpful! Thank you.

I have been given a quote from PC Specialist for a PC that includes the Ryzen 7 3700X. Is there a place on the forum I can get a second opinion? Like I said, I'm not very good with the technical side of things lol.

Yes - you can post your specs in here - Check this spec! | PCSPECIALIST

Make sure you put as much detail in as possible about what you are going to use it for, what monitor you are using it with (or if you want advice on a monitor) - if you dont know model/make of monitor then refresh rate and resolution (1080 / 1440 / 4k etc)

Also advise on what your budget is and leave the experts to it then to advise.
