Is my sound card broke?

I've tried plugging my speakers and headset into the computer speaker socket and it doesn't work, no sound at all is coming out. It works if I plug the speakers into my monitor instead but now I've just got some new turtle beaches and they require me to use the PC soundcard.

I've tried all 4 options on the 'sound' part of the control pannel and don't get any sound coming from any when plugged into the pc? I have the 'Onboard 6 channel (5.1) high def audio' sound option from PCS.

Try right clicking the volume icon on the bottom right,select playback devices then set speakers as default.

you may also want to check that the volume controls are up on the turtlebeach and you may need to turn the headset on
