When I got my PC specialist laptop I asked for it to come with windows 10 pro. Is that particular license tied to the machine or can I transfer that license to another laptop?

You can make it a digital license and tie it to a Microsoft account. Once you have done this, you can de-activate it from your current system and re-activate it on your new one.

It will only work on any one system though.

How do I do this? I'm googling it now and it doesn't seem to give me the steps.

Just to clarify, youve got a system off PCS with Win 10 pro on it and you want to take it off the PCS one and use it on something else, yes?

So, on your PCS system, do you log in using a local profile, or have you set up a microsoft account? Or do you/have you ever used anything like Hotmail?

If you have, you should be able to log in to your microsoft account https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb and go to your account page, it will associate your copy of windows with your account (if it hasnt already).

You can also click on devices there and unlink that device.

On the PC you want to move the licence to, you simply install windows 10 pro onto it, then when setting up use your microsoft account when creating your user profile, it will then allow you to activate windows using your microsoft account
There was a post about it here https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...ital-windows-10-license-to-new-machine.77362/

If that system has an old copy on windows already on it, you can still upgrade it to win 10 (far as im aware) and theres a guide here https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...-windows-10-11-for-free-still-relevant.65782/
