is this a good PC for gaming , no idea when the 30 series will be in stock but this is the list.

In addition to the @SlimCini has asked.

what games you planning on playing?

for the vast majority of games 16gb is sufficient, things like MSFS 2020 work better with 32GB.

Also be aware there is an ongoing potential issue with 4 x 3600 sticks with Asus boards / AMD.

if you need 32GB, I would drop it to 3200mhz.
i currently play warzone and bf4 along with subnautica and deus ex, will be playing bf6 when it arrives tho, and i have swapped to 3200mhz, thanks

I've made a few tweaks - Ram - users on here have had issues running 4 sticks at 3600hz, wifi card upgraded, removed the extra fans as you won't need them and the cooler comes with paste.

What are you planning on using it for? The 5600x could be a better CPU option, as you need a 5000 series CPU to make use of all the features of AMD GPUs

can i ask why the ram was changed from 4 to 2 sticks? my understanding was that more sticks causes less strain?

Due to stability issues some users have had with 4 sticks at 3600mhz and also it leaves a couple of dims spare if you ever need to upgrade in the future.

Are you planning on streaming at all? if not I would recommend the 5600x over the 3800x. Better single core performance and allows the GPU to use the SAM feature. A better gaming chip plus cheaper which is a bonus.

would it be better to go with 4x8GB at 3200mhz then? i wont be streaming no but isnt 8 cores better?, thanks for the info!

isnt 8 cores with the 3800x better overall for future proofing the pc especially as i have chosen a 16GB 6800 GPU
It's an older chip. Unless you were planning on doing multiple intensive tasks (such as streaming) while gaming you'll be paying for cores you won't utilise. The single core performance will be more beneficial for games than the extra cores.

The GPU especially at higher resolutions will do most of the work. If you did want the extra cores the 5800x would be the way do go. But if your comparing the 3800x to the 5600x the 5600x is the better gaming CPU. (especially with you include AMD SAM in the mix as well - https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/smart-access-memory )

I believe the H100x is an older design and you would be better off with the H100i Platinum cooler, which has magnetic levitation fans that are very quiet. Bullguard has been reported to be troublesome and is worth removing.

had a little look at the 5600x, think i can afford the 5800x is that a better cpu for gaming?

According to quite a few benchmarks its pritty much on par with the 5600x only diffrence will be from productivity work or turn based strategy games for example warhammer total war the campaign map ai turn times the gpu typically does more for gaming

Godlike
For gaming the 5600x is all you will need. Core count is not that important as most games work best with one fast core. The 5800x would come into play if you wanted to be multitasking while gaming, e.g streaming, or when using professional applications that use multiple cores such as Blender.
5600x is cheaper than the 5800x, plus you can stick with the standard cooler as the wraith cooler that comes with the 5600x is very good quality.
