Ite thanks guys have some rep + :D lol

I think the 1st GPU I showed with just 1 DL-DVI-I socket can do multiple displays too. But to be honest im only looking to use 1 Monitor :)

I just want that monitor on its own and playing the highest resolutions with high or ultra settings on common/ popular games. :whistling:

"The DVI-D and DVI-I connector provide (via additional pins) for a second data link. This allows resolutions up to 2560x1600, which are supported by many add-on graphic cards. A connector with these additional pins is sometimes referred to as DVI-DL (dual link).

The long flat pin on a DVI-I connector is wider than the same pin on a DVI-D connector, so it is not possible to connect a male DVI-I to a female DVI-D by removing the 4 analog pins. It is possible, however, to connect a male DVI-D cable to a female DVI-I connector. Many flat panel LCD monitors have only the DVI-D connection so that a DVI-D male to DVI-D male cable will suffice when connecting the monitor to a computer's DVI-I female connector."

^ This to me is still confusing :surrender:

As I said in my first post, and as it says above, you can connect a DVI-D to a DVI-I port (female) this is what you are doing.

see vanthus told you the 4 pins are for higher resolution monitors :p honestly jaymee i wouldnt worry atall the cable supplied will give you full 1080p resolution.

Erm,no I didn't say that,I said the 4 pins are for analog.:)
The link I gave in my first post explains it all quite well.

HD 1080p, 1920 x 1080 Is that the highest it can do...?

PS# I worry alot lol Especially when something aint making sense in my head :taz:

Yeh im sure everything will be fine, but its just trying to understand all this information.

I know sarcasm doesnt come across properly on forums i now know that the 4 analog pins are for kvm switches and dvi to vga adapters.

So this is A Female Dual Link DVI-I Socket....? http://xfxforce.com/ThumbS3.ashx?im...X-795A-TDB%5C795A-TDB_3.jpg&type=full,400,300

And this is the Male Dual Link DVI-D...? http://www.iiyama.com/fill,4488,385,320.jpg

Yes.Sorry,no,they're both female.Lol,your getting me confused now.
Female is a socket with slots, male is a plug with pins.

Nah nah trust me im not [rollinglaugh] lol

Surely though, the Cables i get with either that GPU or the Monitor will all connect it up right and enable me to play on the highest resolution. :) #But still, all good to learn and know all this i guess.

I'm going to say yes,as getting into resolution will probably only confuse things more.
The monitor has a Native resolution of 1080p, 1920 x 1080,so a DVI-D single link connection should suffice,if the monitor has a DVI-D dual link port, like you showed, you could also use a DVI-D dual link cable.See what I mean about getting more confusing.

I think its the DVI-I dual Links that give the Higher Resolutions for 27inch 30inch Mons. That flat long bit on the side is longer than on a DVI-D Dual Link. The 4 Pins are for analogue which is what you was talking about. But i do think You need DVI-I DL For larger monitors and stuff. #I may be wrong  lol
