Just A Thought

I came to join this Forum as a result of placing an order for a computer and having to go through your 'Contact Us' tab on the Homepage where I then noticed that you had created a Forum site which I must say is ''the dogs ********''
Do you think it would be a good idea if you added a Forum tab on your homepage where anyone visiting your site would automatically see that you had much more to offer.
I see that you have a link lower down in the Help box but think a tab link may be more prominent.

Considering the nature and tone of the members has proven to be quite positive and beneficial so far i would support this idea as well.

Its quite well hidden at the moment although has made it into our welcome booklet and some of the emails we send.

You should put it up beside the whas new tab, and put the whats new tab to the right of it, or just remove the whats new tab.

We considered where to put the links and a tab was our ideal choice, but our website has to support 1024 x 768 upwards and therefore there was no room in a tab.

We've still managed to get 300 members in our first month and we'll consider making the forum more proniment as it starts to mature a little more :)

I must say that the support I found in these forums was a major factor in my decision to place an order with PCS.

I used to have an excellent local supplier, but they were bought out by another company after I bought my last PC from them. Naturally I talked to them first, but rapidly came to the conclusion that they were more interested in selling their own builds than helping someone put together a spec that was right for their needs.

I did try looking in their forum and, while it wasn't bad, it was nowhere near as well supported by 'staff' as this one is and genaral advice on full build specs was almost non-existant. To my mind you have a great business asset in this fourm, so should do your best to get potential customers using it as soon as possilbe :)

take care,

Mike

Can I most strongly endorse everything that Bandred (Mike) has stated.
I believe he has captured the impression that I feel - this Forum is an absolute credit to PCS and whilst not an 'official' part of PCS, I am sure that it has done them untold benefits. Well done to those that have formed and run it. EXCELLENT.

I have to say as well that the forum played a rather big part in me deciding to order my machine from PCS rather than a competitor (Granted I haven't ordered it yet but pay day is only 2 weeks on Wednesday away ;)). The support and the community thats grown in such a short time is quite astonishing. I found the Forums by chance (it wasn't until after many PC configurations that I noticed the Forum link on the left menu) and I think alot more people would be coming and asking for advice as well as just joining in if it was better "advertised".

yeah friends and family i have spoken to about the company say that without this forum and the people who run it the problems i had would have been esculated.. my friend had problems with his rig and found calling the tech team very unhelpful (over 12 months ago) but when i told him about the forums he managed to get it sorted quick easy and painless :) so they are a major addition to an already highly successful company, and i hope it remains that way :) (or i may cry)

Its a shame that the forums appeared just after i ordered my pc :) thankfully though im happy with my pc anyway but it took a while to find out all the info about what it does etc... the forums here are very helpful and i like the fact they dont even mind us asking about non pcspecialist tech stuff as well :)
