Hi 👋 There's a few things to change in order to make a PC better balanced, but before that, could you tell us your uses (software and games, and if you'll do occasional or professional heavy video editing, also if you'll be streaming), and very important - what monitor it will be paired with (refresh rate, resolution or make and model).

If you could also include the link to your specs as it's explained in the sticky collaboration thread, that would make us easier to amend the build.

Hi there 👋! Oh ok, i would like to be able to run most if not all games. Generally i will probably only be playing free steam games and say like Valorant for the first few months. I'm not too too fussed at be able to run high graphics settings but i would like to be able to. For video editing i use DaVinci resolve, I am a part time YouTuber. I might stream but i don't think I am that interested, do I need better specs for streaming? That is one thing i do not know, what monitor to get. I would like probably a 144hz monitor.

Not sure this is the right link to my specs. https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/configuration/

This is unfortunately not the link we need - please have a read below and amend.

If I got it right, you aren't decided on a monitor, then what budget would be for a monitor alone? And would you prefer a 24inch or 27-32 inch screen? The bigger the screen, the better resolution is requires. The better the resolution, the better GPU it requires. The better the GPU, the better budget it requires.

Yes I am undecided on what monitor to go for, i would like a 24 inch monitor for around 160 pounds. I think i can go a little higher but It might be a no.

Ah sorry here is the link - https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/5uQ5srAtGz/

Ive kept your same case and RGB strips n stuff...although personally I would strip that back and look at another case, focus it more on the build performance given such a tight budget with current prices. (4000D Airflow, and use the money from strips and previous case to add couple of fans to fill front spaces)

This would also give you a decent frame to build on, fast storage with room to easily expand as well and a better CPU along with more up to date motherboard.

You can just upgrade the GPU every few years and get that 9-10 years usage out of it, its worth using most your budget, prices are all high right now.

Oh wow, thank you so much man! What case would you recommend, and would i need to add fans myself or would PCS do that for me? (not very confident in doing stuff to the pc).

Also is the ryzen 7 3700x better than the ryzen 5 5600x? I thought that 8 cores would do better for gaming than 6 or does it not make much of a difference? You are probably the expert here but I'm guessing the 5600x is better.

Yeah prices are very high and will probably not drop for a while. One more thing, do you recommend any monitors (144hz)? for say around 160 pounds.

And when you are ready to go 1440p you can buy the GPU and monitor at the same time.
With this, you shouldnt need to add any fans, and you have a AIO thats good performance (pump not as quiet as it could be, but nvm).

Its a good case for cooling, rgb led front that can be played with, and the roof fan will get moved to the front so 2 front 2 roof (cooler fans) and 1 rear.

GPU will be perfectly happy on 1080p, but yes, its an older card. But the GPU is the thing you change most, and you should be able to get years and years out of the rest.

The 5600X is going to beat the 3700X, its a solid choice for gaming.
5000 series CPU's all took a step forward compared to the previous generation (unlike Intel right now...)

I like this, and i will put the 2060 on this as it is not that much extra. One thing about this that makes me nervous is liquid cooling because i know it is a serious thing and can go wrong easily if im not mistaken. Will there be any maintenance / things i will have to do with a liquid cooling system? As in will i have to mess with it at all, because i am quite nervous about that.

AIO coolers are closed loop, you dont do anything with it but blow out the fans and radiator occationally, like you should do with a desktop anyway to clear dust. Proper liquid builds are far more work and you have to do maintenence on them/refill etc.

Ah that is all good then, i was worried that i would have to pour liquid in the thing. Yeah no i understand every few months (i think it is months, maybe less idk) you have to dust it and stuff. So do you think i should go ahead and order this?

If you're happy with it, and the slight overspend I think its a good starting point with upgrade options to it.
Considering prices ATM and the budget, I think its a fair shot.

If you have your own copy of windows you can install that would knock £100 off the price and help a lot. If theres any existing storage drives you should be able to add them in easily too.

Regarding monitor... work having a look around but you shoulddd be able to get a decent quality 1080p 144Hz monitor for under £200 without many problems.

I did wonder if maybe the Samsung Oddyssey G3? (G5 is often recommends for 1440p)
Be keen to see what some of the others thought though.

Its tough, prices arent looking like they will budge anytime soon, so given the current reality, yeah if I had that budget I'd be alright with it, but I'd also plan to save and buy a 1440p monitor and matching GPU prob within a year.

Before, would of been able to squeeze that in for £1400 :(
