Hi, currently im using a laptop of
Chassis & DisplayVortex Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
Processor (CPU)Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4710MQ (2.50GHz) 6MB
Memory (RAM) UPGRADED16GB Corsair Vengeance SODIMM DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics CardNVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 880M - 8.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
1st Storage Drive UPGRADED500GB SSD Samsung 870 EVO

However Ive started to look into a new system as it is struggling on some games.
Ive listed what im looking at below, including other information as for example the cooler I want isnt available on PCS.
This is all of course if i follow through and purchase, or if I should just wait.

BenQ GW2283 1080p 21.5inch 60Hz

I also use my old 32inch 1080p TV as a second monitor, though this is dominantly just for watching videos for example on youtube.

Intended Uses are of course general computer use, browing web, listening to music etc and other activities listed below.
Ill also have multiple software open, could be browser, discord, game and maybe music or Nvidia Instant replay running in background for game recording.

Here are some games that I play when Im into them.
HOI IV
Total War Games
Gates Of Hell
DayZ - This is primarily why im looking to upgrade, Im dominantly wanting to run this from high/extreme settings at min 60FPS with Discord and Nvidia replay on.

Im really a beginner/student within 3d Modelling, Programming, Game Dev etc. Since getting into DayZ im also currently looking into creating mods for it.

From this here is some software that i would be using and potentially using in the future.

Blender
Substance 3D Painter
Unity Engine

Then with recently looking into modding for DayZ I would have DayZ Tools open and also have to run DayZ to test mod.

Now obviously id like to go as little as possible to get what im looking for, this being it is able to run Dayz well and also something to grow into for Creative Media.

Im also expecting its cheaper in the longrun to get AM4 now, and I would upgrade to another AM4 CPU if/when needed, till I feel the need to upgrade motherboard to get AM5 cpu.

As im expecting if i wait and go straight for AM5 the build will be more expensive.

From all this I preferably want it around £1050, this is including the seperate cooler ive added etc.

Here is the build, ive also listed any questions and other info next to the product.

Case - With the case i dont really want to change, unless you recommend and make a good selling point. Though, I like its look and most other tempered glass ones wouldnt be visible as it will be to the left of my desk.
THERMALTAKE TOWER 100 VERTICAL GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Six Core CPU (3.6GHz-4.2GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard - Do these have WiFi built in these days or do i need to purchase seperate Wifi antenna?
GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX: DDR4, USB 3.2 - ARGB Ready
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER - HDMI, DP - GeForce GTX VR Ready!
1st Storage Drive
1TB Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (up to 560MB/sR | 530MB/sW)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 450W CV SERIES™ CV-450 POWER SUPPLY
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling - Im looking into purchasing and installing seperately a Noctua NH-D15 cooler, or something else if you recommend.
Though with this cooler I believe it should still fit next to the RAM, though I havent confirmed.

Since this cooler also uses 2 fans I would also be using a splitter cable, im wondering after installing this would I have to set anything up for the fans to be automated to cool the CPU depending on its temp, or is that all automatic??

STANDARD AMD CPU COOLER
Thermal Paste - Would apply myself when applying new cooler
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Extra Case Fans - Personally I would prefer 140mm fans but that is not an option on PCS, so I would either stick with these 120mm or purchase/install seprately 140mm, again though, do you have to set up the speed to work with cpu temps?? Personally its a shame I cant just purchase cooler and fans then ship them to PCS to install with the purchase like you can ship your own case.
2 x 120mm Thermaltake TOUGHFAN 12 Case Fans
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Wireless Network Card
GIGABIT LAN PORT + Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi excluded on A320I-K)
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 4 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
Operating System - With my old Laptop (listed) I purchased with Windows 7, then upgraded to W10, however I cant update to Win11. Do I purchase new licence? Then im guessing there is a way to sell my laptop with its licence, though I believe it is digital.

Can I just say a huge thank you for a perfectly posed post, amazing job, couldn't have been better 👍

This is a really interesting build and situation. I'd be inclined to say you can do much better for just a little more. You can go for the 5600, a better SSD, and a better, more efficient and capable power supply, and end up with a much more powerful and upgradable system.

For the cooler, I love the NH-D15, but it's a behemoth and I bet you'll have a miserable time fitting it in your case. It's compatible, but I struggle a bit with it in mine and I have a full size ATX case. I'd suggest the NH-U12 instead: very strong and quite good enough for the terrifyingly efficient 5600. Alternatively (and this would perhaps be my choice in your shoes if I were doing an ITX PC) there's the low profile NH-L9i, which is also a superb cooler.

My guess on the fan front is that you'll be fine with the included fans with the case. If after you buy the system you're not, I'd suggest replacing them with high quality fans yourself. I have NF-A14s in my PC and they were really easy to fit and are very quiet.

With the graphics card, the 1660 Super is quite old now. Capable but quite old and still £250. I'm not sure there's a good alternative on PCS now that the 6600 has disappeared, sadly, though it is possible to fit your own if you can pick one up cheaper...

Finally, in response to your questions, yes, the WiFi antenna will be built in/included with the PC: all you will need to do is take it out of the box and screw it in.

I'll post a separate post with my suggested build for you in one second...

Thanks for the relpy.

CPU
I definetly agree with the points you made from CPU as this would help the longevity before wanting to upgrade.

PSU
The PSU im gessing would last a lot longer unless I was going to go really big with GPU and other components.

STORAGE
The M2 would definantly speed it up a lot more for a few punds cheaper.

Cooler
With the cooler the main reason I thought of the bigger one was the case dominantly has one intake (placed on top of PSU cover) and one exhaust for top or rear behind motherboard. Which is why I felt for more better cooling the big noctua would be more proficient, also started looking at Be Quiets Dark Rock Pro 4 dont know if its quieter yet.
The NH-U12 would be interesting and more cheaper, though im guessing I would have to upgrade to something bigger when upgrading cpu in the future.

Low Profile Coolers - Stock & NH-L9i
I dont know how well these would perform with how the intake is for the case from bottom to top. Though I could stick with the Stock cooler and see what temps I got till upgrading the cooler.

Fans
So to confirm the case will have fans included with purchase? As I was expecting you have to purchase them seperatly with the Extra Fans slot.
If so I would then stick with the included fans till upgrading cooler.

GPU
It is dated but I thought it would be the best I could get from budget. Ive looked online and some are on sale upto £20 cheaper at £230.
Though they have different 1660 Super from Gigabyte, PNY and Zotac to which I dont know their differences. Im guessing they just customised the card and overclocked it etc.

Regarding installing a new cooler is it just plug in, or do you have to set up fan speed. I know you can customise fan speed but I dont know if it will just run default speeds automatically when placing it into the system. Im probably overthinking with this.

Also, since I would be doing upgrades after purchase, Im wondering if that will void your PCS warranty on what components they installed at time of purchase?

Also side note, how much do you think I could get atleast for my laptop. As i dont know the best place I would sell probably CEX to have less messing about preparing and shipping it myself.

Exactly so. It's also just plain better value.

PSU
The PSU im gessing would last a lot longer unless I was going to go really big with GPU and other components.
Yes. You probably will find yourself more restricted with the case, in all honesty, rather than the PSU.

The NH-U12 is a really strong cooler: only a tad behind the U15. For your case I think it's by far the superior option. (Obviously you have to go for the chromax.black version. Obviously.) I think the U12S might even be slightly more compatible in terms of access to the PCIe slot.

Low Profile Coolers - Stock & NH-L9i
I dont know how well these would perform with how the intake is for the case from bottom to top. Though I could stick with the Stock cooler and see what temps I got till upgrading the cooler.
Yeah, that's 100% what I'd do. For gaming, the stock cooler will be fine if loud; for heavy multi-core stuff, not so much. In your case, where you're going to be ordering something and upgrading it afterwards, I'd absolutely see what the cooling performance is like first.

Fans
So to confirm the case will have fans included with purchase? As I was expecting you have to purchase them seperatly with the Extra Fans slot.
If so I would then stick with the included fans till upgrading cooler.
That would be 100% my expectation. The case comes with 2 fans from Thermaltake. If you want confirmation, I'd message PCS and check. But I can't believe they'd send a case out without fans. When I ordered my build, it came with the normal included fans, which I eventually replaced.

They'll all be in different configurations with coolers, power delivery, etc. They're all much of a muchness, really.

You can get a 6600 for ~£275. I'd have thought that would be a better option myself, but I can see the argument for the simplicity of the 1660S!

Regarding installing a new cooler is it just plug in, or do you have to set up fan speed. I know you can customise fan speed but I dont know if it will just run default speeds automatically when placing it into the system. Im probably overthinking with this.
It should be controlled automatically. It's worth just going into the BIOS and checking it's set to PWM control rather than DC control, but IIRC it should be automatically detected. You shouldn't need to customise fan speed.

Also, since I would be doing upgrades after purchase, Im wondering if that will void your PCS warranty on what components they installed at time of purchase?
No, but obviously damage you might cause wouldn't be covered. Have a look at the final section of the FAQs:

Its starting to look like im purchasing this. Im looking at GPUs and see a RX 6600 for around £250, though it will be from Amazon US. Im wondering is this still safe to use in an UK computer?

Im guessing it will be fine, just thought id ask incase anyone knows for sure.

Yes, it's the same card, but remember you'll have to pay 20% customs tax from the US, so it will be more like £300

I would also strongly recommend NOT buying from amazon marketplace, it's just riddled with fake sales. Only buy direct from Amazon or recognised storefronts.

it does have an estimated import fees deposit coming up to a total of 256. There is another amazon seller with same price but its estimated to come at a later date than PC would be delivered. Dont really want to look at my new rig and cant turn it on haha, probably safer just buying from UK seller though incase estimate is incorrect.
