Didn’t think that was relevant as I’d already ordered it, was just looking for opinions. I don’t have a budget really, apologies for confusion
You asked for feedback, without knowing a ceiling we don’t know how better we could configure it.

Straight off the bat, the 14900k isn’t a gaming cpu, it doesn’t any real gains over the 14700k especially limited to a 360mm radiator which isn’t enough to stop it thermal throttling. So it would never be able to achieve the optimum performance that the 14900k is capable of anyway.

An AMD rig would offer overall better performance while operating at significantly lower temps and using substantially less power.

So the general advice would be to cancel and get some advice on a better system.

Solid advice thank you. What rad would you switch out to, to prevent the throttling? Was aware AMD are probably the better choice for gaming these days, but always been with intel so thought I’d stick with them

PCS only do up to 360mm radiators, so there is no better option.

There's no probably, Intel are now like AMD were 6 years ago or so before they made their comeback, there are a very few niche use cases like Adobe apps where they hold a worthwhile advantage, but outside of that, especially when you have a healthy budget, it's a really poor choice.

But if you wanted to stick with Intel despite lesser performance and other issues, then drop to the 14700k which is the same for gaming as it can actually be cooled (just about) with a 360mm radiator.

Any reason for so much RAM?

1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB SAMSUNG 990 PRO M.2, PCIe 4.0 NVMe (up to 7450MB/R, 6900MB/W)
Only one drive is a huge no no. Always have a dedicated OS drive (I'd suggest 1TB) and a secondary games drive. The Samsungs are not worth it IMHO over the P44 Pros which have higher endurance.

Power Supply
CORSAIR 1200W HXi SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® PLATINUM
I would suggest the Shift model which is the new ATX 3 standard and far more efficient.

Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND
Cooler comes pre applied with higher quality paste, this is actually a downgrade

Warranty
3 Year Standard Warranty (6 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour)
Suggest silver for only £5 extra, increases collect and return to 1 year.

But I'd still strongly suggest cancelling and getting an AMD build.

I thought more RAM is better lol

I’ll partition the main m2 for the OS and insert a second for games

Will keep the PSU and paste but upgrade to the silver protection

sorry, won’t be switching to AMD any time soon.

Thanks for your advice

Common misconception. RAM doesn’t increase performance in any way. It only maintains performance if that program requires that amount. Anything over that will just never be used. 32GB is more than enough for a gaming system.

Partitioning isn’t done on SSDs. It affects performance and longevity.

Unfortunately there’s no cure for fanboy. I’d love to know why you’re so adamant against AMD, I just don’t understand the rationale.

This is where we would aim for a top end build for gaming. It would perform better than what you have chosen and is around £600 cheaper. The 4090 isn't worth it IMO and adds a significant increase in cost over the 4080 Super without having that much more grunt. It is the best though, but comes at a cost of £670. You could easily have saved £1200, which could buy you the next generation GPU.

Brilliant take thanks very much. I was half tempted to wait for the 4080ti - but took the plunge and went all in. I don’t plan on upgrading for a good few years after this so thought why not. Thanks again
