Hmm some miscommuncation beetween staff maybe then because they guy on the phone said its been awaiting payment for £117 before actully checking to see if it was a fee or paid upgrade but i wont blame anyone either,(Knowticed you still didnt answer my question about the post,)why should i pay i already payed £69 for the warranty to cover delivery, parts and labour so the payment for you returning the laptop is already payed for for 3 years i belive.
And your saying about installing windows 7 there is clearly a problem with it loading? you know blue screen? thats whats the problems based around that it wont load up properly not about the os.even when the win 7 trial runs out it doesnt just stop the pc from loading up (Try it if you want) i had the trial run out on me and it turned on fine and then i installed linux fine aswell,So its clearly not the fact that i cant install linux or the because the trial has run out.Cant you see someone at your side has done something to the pc? to make it get blue screens and not load?

Have you tried to install Ubuntu from a USB device not so big. I know I had issues before using an 8Gig but when I switched to a 4Gig it worked.
16gb usb drive

Insert a USB stick with at least 2GB of free space and not more then 4.

Use the USB installer Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.9.2.exe . Download and install.

Select Ubuntu Desktop Edition from the dropdown list
Click 'Browse' and open the downloaded ISO file. Latest Version found here
Choose the USB drive and click 'Create'

Put the pen drive in, and select in boot up options the USB drive to boot from.

Rather than worry about windows or a trial, neither of which were ordered, i suggest we concentrate on trying to help you install linux. As mentioned previously, if you are unable to do this we have a linux expert on our staff who will do this for you. Hopefully the suggestion above may help.

Ok but your original post stated that if you could install win 7 on there id have to pay for return even though i have the warranty? i could send it back and you could have a look and install linux too but ofc that would be all free as i have warranty covering it.Also ill just ask on the phone if i can get a refund (Iknow you said you cant answer her) but i would honestly rather go buy a stock laptop from the store than just have to send it back constantly it would of been the second time in a few weeks and i would again be adding time on to the time where ive actully got a working laptop.

I Still dont see why this post is not appearing though,Youve got so many good reviews and your hiding a single bad one? last time i also posted about a bad experience with pcs that got closed and all the ones with bad reviews are now closed (If you look on the webstie and forum section). And youve done well at ignoring this question.

Unfortunately given the nature of the issue you are having it is highly unlikely that a refund would be given. As regards it going back constantly, it wont. If you send it back to us because you are uanble to install linux, then first off we dont support linux, and secondly if we can install windows 7 as i suspect we can, then this will prove there is no fault. However as i have already stated we have a chap who is pretty good with linux and will put this on for you.

Unfortunately given the nature of the issue you are having it is highly unlikely that a refund would be given-Pretty much everythings gone wrong with it,What more needs to happen for it to be refundable?.
As regards it going back constantly, it wont.-Its been back once and whats looking like the second time already and i havent gotten to use the thing properly yet.(Doesent sound too convinicing)
If you send it back to us because you are uanble to install linux, then first off we dont support linux(This makes no sense as you say layer on however we have a chap who is pretty good with linux and will put this on for you?.also as for sending it back because i cant install linux as i said thats not the problem

The problem is that it does not boot up properly,It goes to a blue screen. If however it went to the normaly screen then i could install linux.

And seroisuly what is it with you avoiding the question ive asked for ages? why is this page not viewable from where it is? its like youve got something to hide?

Only have a 16gb usb pen and then a 1tb external would it be ok if i just filled up 14gb so it had 2gb left?

No it will need to be the capacity of it. Its the same for installing XP from a peg. It needs to be max 2Gig and also needs formatting using the HP formatting tool. (sorry little off topic) or another prog. There are a few, which is why I like to use the installer for Ubuntu as previously posted.

Just making the point that certain systems need burning correctly onto the media correctly or they wont install right.

Right, i will try and make this as clear as possible.

The forums are here for poeple to seek constructive help and advice. At the moment you are simply having a moan, and asking things which are nothing to do with the forums and should be done offically.
I have not got a clue what you are talking about with regard to this thread being where it should be. Its under tech support / Laptop, Notebooks. Its already been viewed over 100 times and had posts from someone. So i have no idea what your on about.

With regard to the issue at hand, it is quite clear you have no idea how to install linux which is not a hardware fault. Your statement above is testament to that. If you had working bootable media, and booted from the boot menu, then it simply wouldnt start to load the trial copy of windows and wouldnt go to any blue screen. The fact is you didnt order an os and now you cant install linux.

If you want to return it so we can confirm that windows 7 install correctly than you can do so. If you want to use these forums to ask for advice on installing linux correctly then please do so. If you post once more simply to have a moan, then this thread will be closed.

P.S We do have a chap who is pretty good with linux, he does it all in his own time. Nothing to do with PC Specialist not offically supporting linux.

Ok so your saying the blue screen is just down to the fact that it hasent got a os and its not a hardware fault?

if there's no OS installed then generally you get an error about no bootable media or some such iirc.

side note - jonny - might be worth your time to not be so vague with random phrases like blue screen (i presume not BSOD)? take a photo or something with your phone and post pics.

No. According to your previous posts, the blue screen happens when windows starts to load up. This in itself means you haven't booted from any bootable media becuase it is simply starting to load the trial copy of windows.. I dont know how many more ways i can explain this.

This therefore means that your so called bootable linux media isnt working.
