Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

Literally just saw this on pop up too. Looking forward to it.
I've not see Keaton do anything bad yet (involved in The Flash, but he was brilliant), and most things I've seen him in of late he has excelled at. I'm hoping for big things but I'm going to keep my expectations low as there are too many cash grabs nowadays.
In other news....... If I went to see The Fall Guy at the cinema, I think I would have walked out. Previously I always found Gosling pretentious, now I don't know what he's up to. His performances aren't lacking, but his script selection is down right awful. Barbie, The Grey Man and this dross. I'm sure he's justified with the cheques rolling, this level of dross should be saved for retirement though.

I love Keaton, he’s always been underrated since the first batman when he really got a lot of stick as the choice and then blew everyone away. Beetlejuice is one of those where I don’t think anyone else could have made such an impact as he did.
Barbie was like Intel for me. I've no idea where the positivity came from, but when I watched it myself I thought every single positive review was a sellout.
The performances were fine, the cast did a fine job with what they were given to work with. There were a few cheap laughs but for the most part it was absolute trash. If you put that dross on the cinema in 1994 Shawshank Redemption might have shone instead of falling on its backside.

As Michael Keaton himself said, he is Batman. As much as his Beetlejuice performance was also magnificent, his face wasn't on display. To this day I see Michael Keaton and I genuinely see Bruce Wayne trying to carry the world on his shoulders. Every movie I see him in, he genuinely is batman..... trying different angles to right the wrongs of the world/gotham.
I probably watched this film at the wrong time. It was brilliant, but it wasn't anywhere near his and Pesci's performance in Goodfellas for me. It put him on the map in the acting world, no doubt, but he did better since. Goodfellas made him the 'Gangsta' that he was typecast for years (Casino I think was probably his hardest persona).

I really like the look of this, it's basically a vision into madness, looks quite dark, really nice concept, kind of bridging quite kiddy attitudes with the darkness of adulthood and how the two can never exist together

I seen that advertised over the last week or 2. It looks really good but I think it will command 100% attention. Not been the weekend for that unfortunately.
I only have ones that I would avoid to suggest over the last few days....
Fall Guy - Awful, just awful. It's barely a story with a half finished screenplay where, I think, the cast were told to write their own script. Should have been called Stunt Guy to leave the Fall Guy untarnished IMO.
Mother - I added this one at the end. See "Atlas".
Reptile - I've tried to watch this around 4 times in honesty. I struggled to get through it but I blamed myself. I got to the end and it was very stereotypical so I felt my resistance to conclude justified. Credit to Del Toro though. He needs better movies as he can change the mood of a scene just breathing that guy (Seriously).
Jimmy Carr Natural Born Killer - Started off great but by the end he was laughing more than me or the audience. Fake laughing........ obviously (use Jimmy Carr voice).
Monaco GP - This is very late. I'm just getting over how dire that race was though.
I'll Finish with Atlas.... which is the least worst. Could absolutely write it. J-Lo does J-Lo things and looks really good doing them. She's an ok actress but IMO very typecast. If you want some entertainment for an hour or 2 though, it's definitely not the worst.
Rewatches that saved the day:
Equalizer 2. The 3 of them are decent movies but they do decline (I'm comparing current viability). More money in the second but thinner storyline as they are reaching. 3rd follows the trend.
Black Mirror - This is a must watch for everyone IMO. Each person I recommend this to I want to take back in time to the episode being broadcast. So far ahead of it's time. The writers saw coming what a lot of people are only witnessing. Never a happy ending, just an ending. Conclusions don't need to be happy and they rarely are when they're accurate.

I love Black Mirror, and I think there's only probably 2 episodes out of all the seasons that I thought 'meh'.
The latest episode of Doctor Who (Dot & Bubble), whilst still as 'meh' as the rest of the current series - looked like it could have been a Black Mirror style story. However, I believe the current series is meant to be more 'fantasy' than 'sci-fi' so it's my fault for continuing to watch it.
Turned off Fall Guy (3/10) about half way through, still haven't had the energy to finish it. Same goes for The Northman (2/10) snoozfest.
Atlas was about as I expected it...basic story with a 'big' name to pull it along...although I only watched it because it was recommended on Netflix as something that I'd probably like (5/10).
I'm currently rewatching Fringe (5 years or so since I last watched it), and I'd forgotten how janky some of it was...but I also remember it gets better in the middle, before going of on some mind-dump. I'm also watching it in a new light after seeing a follow-up show with the cast members saying how they did/didn't get on, and who was deliberately antagonistic or aloof.

I disagree strongly, if you've seen a Robert Eggers film you know what your getting into.

).I thought it was brilliant, most Viking themed shows lay heavily in the combat orientated stuff which is super cool too but they rarely touch on the fantastical ideas and mythology other than the odd nod. Norse mythology is really fascinating.
There's very little mythology I don't find fascinating to be honest but there is something about the Vikings in particular. I don't know if it's their art or how they dressed and the stories told of their feats that makes them just that bit of more interesting
Battle of Stamford Bridge is one of my favourites, an unknown warrior with a axe holding up an entire army at a chokepoint. Only to be defeated by a sneak attack from a spear from under the bridge
