Looks about right to me. I personally would grab the z97-a for a couple more £ and have the extra expandability that board offers.

The triple copper heatpipe should be more than quiet enough for your needs. The loudest part of that system will be the GPU and that will more than drown out the cpu cooler. Why don't you move the 295 into your new rig? Granted it might not be as easy as most cards but I would certainly move the card rather than buy a new one.

No need for the Beast RAM, stick with the 1600MHz Fury or stock RAM, gaming won't benefit from the faster RAM.

actually i think half the issues i have with my current machine are linked to the 295, as it is now 5 years old, the whole machine really needs to be rebuilt, especially as the 295GTX is not a DX11 card, and alot of the MMO's and the games i am seeing prefer to run now in DX11, and i get quite a few graphics card crashes from the 295 now.

I would stick with the GTX 780.

also on the coolermaster website, it says the CM690 III ADVANCED CASE can come with the 200mm fan on the top as well as the front, but on this website it says it doesn;t come with it, because it is only an option, i quite like the larger fans as they spin slower buit they increase the airflow, i would go with the bigger HAF case but it is too big for the gap i have for the machine.

so is it possible to have the extra 200mm fan fitted on the top of the case by pc specialist.

i like the 780 but the 780ti takes the spec over the £1700 price point i have.

taken into account the Ti over the 16gb of ram, and upgraded the motherboard as recommended as well.

What are the benefits of the 780Ti over the standard 780, and why would that be better than having 8gb over 16gb of RAM.

Also doesn't the 780 run really hot anyway, so wouldn't watercooling need to be used to keep the system cooler? or is it just the airflow that keeps the graphics card temperature down? then the question is does this case selected have enough room in it for increased and good enough airflow. - never used a watercooling system before, and the last thing i want is to overheat the machine because of the graphics card.

could go with this spec, really does max out the £1700.00 budget :D

When you are new to the forums, quite often your posts are auto-moderated, so you just have to be patient til a mod sees it and approves it - it should be visible now.

Sorry, for some reason I had ti in my hard you had a rig with a 295x2, which is a somewhat different card from a GTX 295....

I will quietly go away now before I say anything else stupid

The 780Ti is a stronger GPU and as such it should last longer before you need to replace it.

The GPU is only cooled by the onboard fans and heatsink as well as the throughput of air through the case.

It's the best spec you will get for £1700
