Lost printer

My fairly new computer, running Windows 7 64 bit, and my fairly old printer/copier/scanner, an Epson Stylus Photo RX700, were co-operating well but no longer. The computer reports that "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems Code 43", Device manager no longer recognises that the USB port is connected to a printer. When re-connected to my old laptop, running Windows XP, the printer works OK.
I deleted the printer from 'Devices aand Printers' thinking to re-install it but 'install printer' does not offer this model and the USB connection shows under unspecified devices with a yellow warning triangle.
Am I stuck with transferring anything I want printed to my old laptop, or can any of you wise fellows offer any advice?
Thanks,
John

Go into device manager, find the printer, uninstall the printer (right click), take out the USB, reboot, plug in USB, wait for it to install.
