Mini Pc for a bit of gaming?

Hi I am interested in buying a new mini pc from your site but I have a few questions -:

1. With my specs am I able to do a bit of light gaming, for example COD 4,5 on low settings- I don't wish to play these games at high graphics just at a playable rate.
2. I notice that the motherboard can support another graphics card, can you suggest any low profile cards that are suitable that are better than the intergrated?

Here are the specs-:

AMD Phenom x2 555 3.2Ghz Black Edition
4GB DDR3 Ram
1 TB hard drive
Asus M4A88T with ati hd 4250
No operating system (i have 64bit edition on disc)

Please comment as this is annoying me wanting to know :)

I think PCS mentioned somewhere that the cases dont have room for large GPUs but im wondering about the Gtx 460 as its quite short. Then again im wondering about max psu for these minipcs, what is max size you can spec (psu) for this setup?

I would not recommend the Mini-PCs for gaming. At best, they have Integrated Intel/nVidia/ATI Graphics which are not designed for games at all and will struggle on some of the most basic 3D games out today. If you want a PC to play games, you really should be looking at a desktop - even if it's in a Micro-ATX Case (slightly smaller than a normal desktop but can't really be classed as a mini-pc!)

sounds good

well thats what I expected to be the answer, I had the same build in mind with a 5770 at around £500 and I think that will be able to play games alright :) - going back to the mini pc idea I thought this pc would be able to place a low profile card in it http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/amd-mini-pc/
-I've had low profile gpu's in all my full size desktops and they serve me fine, but I would think it would a squeeze!

As far as i am aware it has a PCI-e port but it would be a very tight fit (if it would fit at all) and its not really recommended, im with meds on this one.

you could fit low profile 200 series card in there. Might be able to run mw2 on medium with it.

I don't think our mini PC's can accept a low profile card - they're too small. If you did want to order a dedicated card we can check this for you.

yer I would just love to know if the case and the mobo would fit say a ati 4350 or a geforce 9500gt ( both of these cards have low profile versions)- I have trawled the internet about the case and cannot see any body doing the same. Would you be able to check?

The AMD performance & Intel Intensive PCs can support a GeForce 210, GeForce GT430 and AMD Radeon HD5450. We have listed these options on the configurators in price order. :D

ahhh cheers guys, so considering that say I put say a Geforce 210 into a pc with the original specs listed on my first post do u think it would be capable of playing games alright? say call of duty 4?

If you're going to get a graphics card in the mini-pc for gaming you should get the GT430 because it'll provide the best performance (out of the options available) and isn't that much more than the 210.

yes that is what I am going to do, I have done some research and it looks like an alright card ( direct x11 support to ). Yer I've read reviews about the 210 and it looks pretty pathetic :) can't wait until I order it :)

Are you sure you cant stretch to a Desktop? My Build came to £600 and something (i even added keyboard, mouse and speakers) and it can play crysis on maxed
