Motherboard Bundles.

So I've found this motherboard bundle but I doubt I can post the link as it's not to do with PCSpecialist.

But the bundle consists of:

• i5 4670K @ 4GHZ
• Asus Z87-K
• 4GB Corsair Vengeance LP RAM
• Xigamatek Gaia SD1283

The price for this bundle is £389.99 and it comes Pre-Assembled.

My questions are, is this a good bundle? With the CPU being overclocked, I know it shortens the CPU lifespan but by how much?
I already have 8GB Vengeance Blue in my system which is at 1600MHz, will it be okay to have both in, will there be any conflictions or issues?
I have only read a few reviews on the CPU cooler, but I'm gonna guess and say that it'll fit in my case as I have a Coolmaster Storm Sniper with a HD 7950, but I'll double check for safety.

But with the cooler can I choose either intake or outtake for the fan if I only choose to have one?

Sorry,I didn't realise you were talking about upgrading a PCS build.

Well it is a PC I bought from them 5-6 years ago, and I'm upgrading that and looking at my options needing help?

Is that allowed or can I only ask for advice if I'm buying from PCS?

I am not sure. You are getting almost a brand new system, I am assuming the only thing you are keeping is the case and psu.

Well the motherboard is regarded as the system by the likes of Microsoft for the purposes of a new OS key I believe, so unless your old motherboard blew up and you cant get an identical replacement then its not really an upgrade IMO its more of a new build.

You can upgrade through PCS but you can't upgrade the motherboard, probably for the same reason as above. It would be fine to post about a GPU or RAM upgrade because you could buy them from PCS, or at least pretend you were going to. But because it is a PCS build I think I can give some general type advice on components you could buy from PCS

So if your asking is the 4670k a good CPU choice, the answer is probably but it depends what you had before and your intended uses.
if you are asking will the RAM work, it should do but it can cause some problems on some boards, worth a shot because it should work.
I'm not familiar with that cooler but yes most times you can switch the fans

Upgrading via PCS isn't an option for me as well they have no knowledge of me buying my PC from them so yeah it literally is not an option.

But seeing as I can't buy any CPU that the current mobo handles, I have to buy a new mobo etc.

So if people are going to get in trouble for discussing this, don't worry about it. I'll just use another forum from now on.

I wouldn't like someone coming into my shop (I know people do it all the time) getting advice then buggering off to buy it elsewhere.

This forum is for PCS customers, and unless PCS were to say it was ok to give out advice I don't feel its right to do it. Sorry...

I'm not sure if what you posted is a good deal or not to be honest.
Have you tried phoning PCS for advice,I know a motherboard isn't an option in the upgrade section,but they do sell parts to existing customers so they might accommodate you,no harm in asking.

I looked into the whole upgrading with PCS, and it's not possible for a PC of my age, because I bought it past the upgrade time.

Basically my PC is too old so they won't touch it. Nice upgrade support from PCS.

You don't have to, there are plenty of other forums where you can get plenty of advice. I am not sure what the actual rules are regarding advice on upgrades.

You said it is around 5 years old, I doubt any retailer will be able to offer upgrades for your system for that long.

They only offer the upgrade option to a certain time, if you ordered before that, we can't help.
