Looking like a v nice spec, just a couple of points. Would you be considering adding a second 5870 at a later date in crossfire? If so an HX 1000W PSU would be recommended. Also, maybe consider the 64mb cached HDDs like the WD10EARS :) Otherwise looking like a v nice build. Enjoy!

Looks good and as Sleinous said I'd also recommend going for the western digital caviar green drive instead due to its much larger cache.

I will probably look to add a second 5870 at some point, probably when the price has come down by a good chunk, but at that point the TX850 will almost certainly come out and go into another box I have, so that I can add a ton more storage and use it as a fileserver, and a 1000W+ PSU will probably have come down in price a bit.

I'll consider swapping to the Caviar Green, thanks for the suggestion.

Sounds like a plan! :D

Delay?

The status for this order has been showing as "In Building" since last Tuesday, when I received an email advising that it had been built - is there any particular reason (problem?) for the delay in moving to testing, or is it just down to being busy at the moment?

Order # is 353233 in case anyone wants to check in on it.

I've chased this for you and it's just down to us being busy - apologies for the delay. There is a backlog in our testing department at the moment but all start are working overtime to reduce this as quickly as possible. It should enter testing today or tomorrow at the latest.
