My Vortex II delayed again :(

Okay, finally after a lot of research I've ordered a Vortex II on 1st June and is still in pre-production state. The website says it is the longest phase but is less than a week..and it's almost 10 days and it still is :(

At first, I've been told the build is delayed because Chassis has not arrived.. Now that the chasis has arrived (supposedly), I spoke to a representative this morning (I remember the name but don't want to name him here) who told me the laptop should be ready this evening, if not definitely tomorrow evening. That sounded good until I checked with the representatives again this evening, and I'm told the build hasn't been started because now the blue ray writer is missing, they have to order for it which takes at least another "couple of days" wait...and this way my order is still in pre-production status even 16 days after placing the order..

Now, why the blue ray writer wasn't ordered earlier when I placed my order 16 days back, I don't know? Perhaps, they're hiding something?

How can I escalate this issue? To say that I'm irrirated is a very mild statement.:mad:

Am I the only unfortunate person or have any of you faced issues like this? Any suggestions on what I can do to escalate this issue? I have already called the customer representatives but they say there is nothing they can do (well, they could have ordered blue ray writer earlier, they had enough time didn't they? :sleep1:)

The blu-ray writer isnt out of stock. The software for it is. Cyberlink have shipped this and it will be with us very shortly. Unfortunately, like you we are beholden to companies who supply us, and occasionally delays are inevitable.
Once again I will point out, that the delivery timescales given are only approximate, not guaranteed and everybody who orders from us agrees to the t and c's which basically state that we will supply your order within 30 days.
We obviously do all we can to ship orders as quickly as possible, but we often have to contend with things that are out of our control.
When this happens all we can ask is that customer remain patient.

Your order is currently on its 10th working day and will be shipped as soon as possible.

I will aslo explain the ordering process. First off, it has absolutely nothing to do with ordering earlier or later. We forecast our ordering needs, call the supplier, they provide a lead time and we place the order. If the supplier then fails to meet the lead time quoted, then this is something we have to manage, but there is very little we can do. We can try and find stock elsewhere, but generally, the stock is delayed because it is in constraint everywhere.
