New build

So PCS doesn’t allow you to purchase a system without a storage drive of some sort. The Samsung 980 is one of the, if not the fastest consumer drive available today. If you’re going to need a single drive in your machine, you might as well make it one of these. Plus it saves the need to have to re-install your Windows onto another dive.

I’ll be honest. This drive situation is very confusing (to me at least). The only case that I can see that might fit all the drives is the ThermalTake X71 which is unbelievably expensive. Part of me is tempted to suggest purchasing a large 2nd SSD and a few large HDD’s and spend a while transferring your data from the drives you currently have to the drives you will purchase with this machine. It seems like an incredible amount of data in a lot of places (assuming they’re all almost full) and having it all on 3 drives must be a whole lot easier to handle. I’m a bit lost on where to go at the moment if I’m honest.
I always intending to buy a M2 type drive as my boot drive and i have now settled on the samsung pro, it was the fire cuda but will take the speed as a a bonus only intend to put in as many drives as the case will take and i plan to wipe my drives and start from scratch any important stuff i will store on the cloud until needed so it will be a proper new build the silver warranty is a good investment I just want the fastest for longest as I am well aware all tech is ageing fast like myself this is me treating myself to the best I can afford not to worried about fitting every ssd or 3tb drives in the case thank you

Okay, great, that clears things up a lot! Would you like to start fresh with new drives too or will you be using the drives you already own for everything else apart from boot drive?

Something like this perhaps?
It's the same build as before, it just has 2 4TB HDD for 8TB of HDD storage then a 2TB M.2 SSD for everything else you want to store on SSD. If you wanted to upgrade to the drives to 6TB for 12TB total it'd add another £90. Although with it's current spec it's at a very satisfying £2,500 exactly 😂

Another option is something along the lines of this. It'll effectively make them all External drives you could plug in via USB. You could either buy one and just swap the drives out as you need them or buy one for each drive that won't fit in the PC (the 5000X has space for 4 2.5 inch SSD's and 2 3,5 inch HDD's).

Also, do you have all these drives in one case at the moment? If so, what behemouth of a PC case do you have?

Edit: Something that totally skipped my mind is sending in your own case. Assuming I'm allowed to link to it, here is a list of all the cases with 6+ 3.5 inch bays (how many I believe you need). You could purchase one and make the delivery address the PCS warehouse address so they could build in the PC then once you recieve it, you could put all your drives into it?

That alternative drive spec was only to try and get you up to the amount of storage you had with all your combined drives. If you wanted to start fresh with new drives tbis would be the spec I’d advise.

The 1st SSD is a 500GB drive for windows and programs as has already been covered, the 2nd SSD is a 1TB drive for games and then the HDD is for general files. If you feel the 1TB won’t be enough for games the 2TB Corsair drive is a pretty great option and will add about £100 to the price. Oh I’ve also slid in a 3080 to give you top performance on your VR.

Of course, you could reuse your drives (you have so many of them 😂 )in that case just remove the PCS 1TB SSD and the 2TB HDD

With all these drives remember its not just if there are enough bays to put them in, but if there are enough sata data outlets to supply them on the motherboard

This is a very good point. Looks like the TUF X570 has 8 SATA DATA Ports which sounds like tonnes to me 😂

Looks good, I'd make a few little tweaks. Are you specifically looking for quietness with that case choice? For motherboard, the STRIX isn't necessary for the 5800X and the TUF will be perfectly fine. For storage, I'd swap the 1TB 980 Pro to a 500GB as that should be plenty for OS and Applications. If you don't think 1.5TB will be enough total storage, I'd recommend the 2TB Corsair M.2. The cooler you have is now previous generation so I'd recommend the Capellix H115i, it'll be more powerful and quieter. If you're not a fan of the RGB it can be turned off with Corsair's iCUE. If you're looking for quiet, those extra case fans might not be the quietest so I'd recommend the Thermaltake fans if you're looking to add some, although that case comes with 3 as stock and you're adding 2 so that should be enough. Will you need extra USB ports? You'll only need the PCIe card if you need extra ports (The TUF I'd recommend has 6 USB A and a USB C).

The other question I have is if the 3080 will be necessary. Looking back, your monitor would be perfectly adequate running on a 3070 and making the switch would save a lot of time and money. It's just whether the 3070 will happily run the VR (I'd like to think it would). Some extra comments on this would be great!

Thanks I am looking to future proof as much as possible i considered droping down to a 3070 and maybe upgrading at a later date when prices fall but I dont know and the 3080 would be better for my 4k lg 42" screen at day 52 so not sure which way to jump i have saved the cash to build this comp but dont want to waste cash either as it takes a lot of earning desicions decisions !!

We love you Ukraine
What monitor do you actually have? What refresh rate? I can't find any details on an LG 422?

Edit: I see 4k 60Hz is the TV? If so, you could drop down to a 3070 quite happily.
