New computer won't startup windows

Hello all

My new desktop just arrived today and it won't startup windows. When I first switched it on it went to the option of safe mode screen and then to the ASUS boot screen and whatever I did I just went in circles. A blue screen flashedd up briefly but too quickly to read the writing. I've tried the windows repair options but nothing is detected. I've also done a memory scan but no problems there either. I'd like to try a clean installation but I'm not sure which of the two partitions to delete.

I setup a new pcspecialist machine a few weeks ago with no problems so I know I'm not just making a daft mistake. Oh, and on the asus screen I pressed 4 to unlock the 2 cores--was that a bad thing or fine?

Thanks in anticpation of any help. Pcspecialist support is really good but I'd like to get this sorted before Monday if i can do it myself.

Thanks

Cassick

Could have been a sysprep failure,if the first boot is not successful for whatever reason, you may have to do a clean install.
Pressing f8 with the os disc inserted should bring you to the option to boot from os disc.
If not you will have to set optical drive as first boot in bios.
Instructions on how to do a clean install are given in the welcome booklet.

Thanks Vanthus

I can use the instructions in the booklet but there are two partitions and I don't know if I am supposed to delete both or just one. If it's just one then which one? One is called system something I think.
