If I was to sell the i9 9900X and get the 9900K would it be compatible with my current mobo/Cpu cooler etc?

Thank you.

For gaming the 9900X is definitely not good. It's a poor choice for gaming considering the outlay. It's a good workstation CPU but there are better options. Did you build this system solely for gaming? Who recommended the build? it's a very odd choice.

I thought so, it was somebody on here. Now i'm stuck with it. Is on finance too so i'm mighty ****ed.

Your GPU 'doing nothing' in gaming could be because the games just don't tax it much. Or it could be because you have a really weak CPU that is bottlenecking it. Or one of 100 different reasons.

Your 9900x was not the best value choice for gaming - there are better CPUs that cost less and perform better like the 9900k.

But it's not going to be a bottleneck in gaming. You can still game on it without it causing problems.

I can't see where you were recommended that - the only other topic in your post history is this one.

Tbh, if you asked for a gaming PC spec, nobody in their right minds here would have recommended a 9900x and 32gb RAM. Anyone who did would almost certainly have been piled in on by other users telling them they were way off the mark. If you asked for a video editing workstation that can also do gaming, then maybe.

Was probably on another forum then, anyways..

What do you guys suggest going forward?

If it is the same issue that was being discussed here that was never resolved, I'd suggest posting up in that topic and continuing from there.

I'd also suggest contacting PC Specialist. If the thing is not working properly, they can provide support and talk you through things to get it right. If fixes you can try at home ultimately don't work, or the troubleshooting points to hardware, they can RMA it.

How does that compare to others? The score is a very high gaming score.

23k for the physics is aright for the 9900X
25k for the GPU is a little bit low, I would expect 26k, eeking towards 27k
6.8k combined is low IMO, should be 7.5k minimum I would have thought, 7.8k would be what I would expect going by other systems.

As this topic is just covering the same ground as the original topic, and is causing people to ask questions that have already been discussed, I'm going to lock this topic.

@DeFrxg - please continue in the original topic - this one - as asked :)
