New laptop: 45GB space used already? How to: Clevo hotkey notifications (Caps lock)

Hello

I've just taken delivery of my new Genesis IV today and noticed that the hard drive is 45GB full already. I understand that Windows 7 will use about 16GB or so although I can't understand where the rest of my hard drive space has gone (120GB SSD Kingston Hyper X). Any suggestions?

Also, I notice when using the 'Caps Lock' that a Clevo hotkey notification appears in the top left hand side. It then stops me from typing letters and is really annoying. Does anybody know how to turn it off?

Thanks

There are two files in particular that can take up a lot of space, the system swap file (page file) the more ram you have the larger this file will be by default.
And hibernation file, both of which are hidden by default.
Some people, especially with SSD's move the page file to another drive,
Buzz has a useful sticky about this.

Edit. Tom posted the link before I could find it.

Thanks very much for the information guys. I will work through the SSD guide this evening.

Do you have any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the Clevo pop ups that happen when I press Caps lock? It disables the keyboard briefly causing typos.
