ok I was recommended use this site for my new laptop purchase, I wanna splash out so thinkin ov going for the

17.3" Vortex III Elite or 17.3" Vortex III E3D

but I dont see the the big benefit in going for the more expensive laptop the E3D. Can someone give me best advice on what I should go for?

Thanks

As far as I understand, the biggest difference is that the E3D has a 3D-capable display, and does not give you the option to choose a different display or a different pair of GPUs. So if you want 3D, you'd want that one. If you don't want 3D and/or prefer the Radeon 7970 or NVIDIA Quadro GPU, then you'd want the regular Elite.

Iv never used nor seen the 3d display, is it good? / worth the extra money? Im thinkin now that just the elite might be best option?

Sorry if I misinformed you.I was always under the impression Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit can only support a maximum of 16GB of Physical Memory.

I find it strange this warning appears with your spec when selecting 32GB Samsung 1600 MHz memory but not 32GB Kingston 1600 MHz.
"We've checked your specification for compatibility. Please consider our advice below before proceeding:
Unfortunately, Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit can only support a maximum of 16GB of Physical Memory. Having more than this will not cause any problems but your system will be unable to use anything over 16GB.
If you wish to utilize more than 16GB of RAM please change your operating system to 64bit versions of Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate."

Hope you enjoy, though I still can't see how it could handle 32GB Kingston ram and not Samsung as I thought it was the operating system that determined the limitation, and as far as I know it's 16GB ram limit for windows 7 64 bit home premium.

Seems I was correct, you won't be able to utelise 32GB of ram, with windows 7 home premium 64 bit, only 16GB max,it was a bug on the configurator and has been corrected by PCS.
https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?21799-Ram-question&p=182949#post182949
So as I said you would need to change the operating system from home premium to Professional or ultimate 64 bit to to get the benefit of more than 16GB of ram,or alternatively if you want to keep home premium, drop to 16GB ram as 32GB would just be a waste of money.

Wow.... : o well my order is allready done and I am expecting delivery tomorrow! :/ so basically I paid for something I wont be able to use.... :/

I could upgrade the OS myself to Pro or ultimate I guess....? But still I should have spent the extra cash in other areas

Thanks for checking this up for me

Laptop arrived on Friday 28th! :D Happy out! quick question - on my old laptop I had a hotkey for volume f8 or something for plus and minus volume....

Anyone know what the hotkey is on the elite laptops?

I never used thus i cant help you in this regards. But i guess, if you bought this one, they you should have bought after full consideration. But i don't think it should be too bad as you are claiming it to be.
