New Laptop Battery Help

Hi, i just got my laptop today, a Genesis II laptop with Intel Core i5 mobile processor, 4GB RAM 750GB hard drive, and the battery is pretty bad, i have the screen brightness all the way down and im not watching vidoes or listening to music and it lasts about 2 hours maximum. Does anyone know why it has such a bad battery life and how i can increase it?

When you get the battery you should run it down to 0%, then charge it up with the laptop turned off for 24 hours. You should do this every few months with any laptop battery to help maintain optimal performace. After doing this you may see an improveent in battery life, but to be honest 2 hours is about normal for a standard 15.6" laptop.
