We can only advise on PCSpecialist systems which come fully built.

Is that what you're after or are you doing a self build?

hi,
Yes I will do a full build on PCS specialist system , but before I start the process I wanted some guidance as I'm knowledge enough in term of my needs vs the diff components specs.

If given the choice today, I'd highly recommend choosing Ryzen. If you'd like more info check out this thread about it. The system that @SpyderTracks specced up for you and will be a fantastic machine and the one I'd recommend between the two. I'm afraid I'm not very knowledgable about Optane so I'd only be able to tell you as much as a google search.

I've also just noticed the price of this build. Personally I feel that spending £2500 as you were originally planning will get you an incredible top tier system that will last for years and spending this much is quite unnecessary. The only reason I'd justify a build of this price for gaming is if you plan to game at 8K in the next few years and considering the G9 is effectively 2 1440p displays stuck together, you won't be utilising this graphics cards potential (effectively bottlenecking your GPU). It's obviously up to you but personally I don't think it's worth it.

Hi,
Yes I like Spyder build a lot and thanks for the link about Ryzen , I will trust Spyder and before make my final choice on Spyder build
Why having 2 M2 SSD drive rather than having just a second 1TB storage drive instead?
Do the artic paste change much on the cooling?
I change the tower as I want a case without windows is my choice good too? see bellow
Also if I upgrade you build processor and motherboard as bellow , what do you think?

Case
FRACTAL DEFINE 7 BLACK QUIET MID-TOWER CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 Core CPU (3.4GHz-4.9GHz/72MB CACHE/AM4) (Pre-Order Only)
Motherboard
ASUS® CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (DDR4, PCIe 4.0, CrossFireX/SLI) - RGB ready

Thanks

The case is an excellent one. The 5950X is pretty pointless overkill for gaming. The 5900X is really the most that makes sense. The Strix motherboard is the best pair for it.

You don't want the Arctic paste with that cooler because it comes with excellent paste/compound already applied.

To answer your questions about M.2 drives, they are effectively tiny SSD's that are plugged straight into the motherboard for super fast storage that are significantly faster than SSD's. The speed of a standard 2.5 inch sata SSD is about 500-600 for read and maybe a bit lower for write. Where as the lastest and fastest M.2 SSD's boast speeds of of 7000 read and 5000 write which is over 10 times faster in some cases. Now these are VERY expensive but they do come down in price over time as the technology improves. And of course, as they plug into the motherboard, they require no wires which is useful for cable managment.

There are 3 main types of M.2 SSD's
SATA: Which are the same speed as the 2.5 inch drives only the form factor is different
PCIe Gen 3.0 These are very fast and what I feel are the best bang for the buck right now. Speeds of around 1500-3000 depending on the one you go for
PCIe Gen 4.0 Very new and unbelievably fast, speeds of like 4K plus? As they're so new, not many motherboards support them but it's slowly being rolled out across them.

I think the idea for the drives recommended was:
1st M.2 SSD: (a PCIe 4.0) 500GB For Windows OS
2nd M.2 SSD: (a PCIe 4.0) 500GB For games and and applications (which spider recommended upgrading to 1TB when it comes back into stock)
1st Storage Drive: 2TB HDD For other files that won't need instant fast access like documents, photos and music

A great video that might be worth checking out if you want more info is this one:

I was going to comment on your changes but @sck451 beat me to it! I agree with all the comments he's made. If you wanted to you could step down even further on the CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800X (as spyder recommended) and still have a great experience, but as this PC seems to be about going all out, I guess you could keep the Ryzen 9 too.

As I said before, unless you are doing heavy video-editing or similar processes, you do not need the 5950X; indeed, its gaming performance is lower than the 5900X, so that would be the ideal chip for you at this price point. If you are set on the 5950X, you should go for the Crosshair motherboard; the Strix is fine for the 5900X.

I'm not sure why you've gone for those changes over the solid build @SpyderTracks posted.
The case change is fair enough, I would recommend the H115i RGB PRO XT cooler to pair with it.
As mentioned above, for a purely gaming Sim Racing build the 5800x 5900x will be ample, having double the cores is only going to make a bigger hole in your wallet.
Downgrade the motherboard to the TUF x570, the STRIX is only really necessary with the 5900x and upwards.

The 3090 doesn't offer enough over the 3080 to warrant being nearly double the price; unless you are happy paying a large premium to get your build sooner than otherwise. If you are going to stick with the 3090 I would recommend upgrading the PSU to the 1000W RMx to accommodate it.

Edits made, thanks Nurse!

hi guys,
Thanks for your comments, I have planned to use the 49 inches curved Odysee monitor and in the future VR Valve index so I'm thinking to get a build for many years, knowing my display requirement what you think then ?
I know the 3090 is deer but the 24GB over 10 doesn't worst it ?

For such build is it not better to get a bigger case like the

The Valve Index is the highest level of VR but I am a little lacking in knowledge on it...Scott is the expert here as well!

However, I did some research and, whilst it's from someone on Reddit, I found this:

"This is basically what I have to run my index, actually I have the ryzen 5900 (non x) and the rtx 3080, and it can run everything I’ve thrown at it on ultra. 144 hz works for most games as well. Not sure I see the benefit to 144 hz for games like HL Alyx. 144 hz may help on games like beat saber. All that to say, I am super happy with the set up. Came from using PS vr and it’s an unbelievable step up."

So the 5900x and 3080 would be fine...the 3090 if you are happy to spend the extra £600 or whatever to get it faster
3070 would be more than enough for the Index, as would the 5800x.

I'm unsure of what advice you are willing to accept and what advice you aren't willing to accept. Numerous times it's been suggested that the 5900X is the best overall chip for your uses yet you seem to be ignoring this advice. If you choose to ignore the advice it's absolutely your decision and fair enough, but could you comment that you understand the suggestion and you are choosing to do so? I only ask as it can appear rude to continually ignore what's being offered while asking for more advice.

Even with money being no object, this is the route that I would go down. The BeQuiet range aren't good enough for cooling IMO. The 3090 is a waste for your uses but if you want to cut the queue time and you're prepared to spend £600 to do so then that's fair enough. Even money no object I still wouldn't be that blaze :)
