New PC for photo editing

I intend to use two 28" 4K monitors, primarily photo, not video editing using Photoshop and Lightroom. My current PC often struggles with large raw files. This is a tweak of the Studio Pro custom PC and comes in at £2087. Will it do the job?

Please include the unique configuration link. Do you really need 8TB of HDD storage inside the PC? How will you be backing up that much storage? You would be better off with a new generation Ryzen CPU. What is your budget? There are some changes that would make this a better build.

Budget could stretch to about £2400 if the upgrades would make a big difference. I thought the second 4TB HDD would serve as primary backup, but it may be a bit OTT.

I would be interested in the changes you might suggest, including which Ryzen CPU to go for.

Stretching towards your upper budget would get you a 5900x. In most cases at the moment you wouldn’t see a massive performance change, as PS and LR currently don’t use lots of core, but that could change. You could look at the benchmarks at Puget Systems to help you decide.
