I'm on Day 11 now and PC has been despatched so just hope the Courier get the PC too me soon!
Anyway the reason for the message is I'm a bit concerened about the CPU. I have ordered a i5 4670K as this was recommended as the most suitable CPU for gaming. However having done a bit of online research it would appear that on certain games namely BF4, the i7 can get in excess of 10 Frames a second more than the i5 as this game does seem to benefit from the Hyperthreading feature.
Also I ordered Windows 7 as this is very popular however apparantley Windows 8 is better for BF4 as it supports Direct X11.1?.

So what I want to ask is if running BF4 at 1080 on Ultra settings what frames per second have people experienced using an i5 not overclocked. The GPU I'm planning to use will be a Nvidia GTX780. Also with the Turbo feature apparantley it boosts the performance from 3.4 to 3.9, how do you enable this function is it done automatically or do you have to physically tell the PC that you want this?

Finally I won't be ordering the GPU just yet as I need to save my pennies for that but the 780 I like the look of performance wise is the Zotac GTX780 AMP edition would you recommend this particular card over any other?
I ordered a Asus Hero Mother board with a 128 SSD and Caviar Black 1TB Hardrive with a 7450W Corsair PSU

Could you post the link of the i7 vs i5? More than 10 fps difference is a lot, I was with the impression BF4 didn't support hyperthhreading.

I'll have a look tonight.

The turbo boost kicks in automatically when necessary.

My rig seems to range from 60 - 80hz on BF4.
edit: If you can stretch the budget a little more I would get a GTX 780TI

60 - 80 frames a second on ultra settings 1080 BF4 seems great if I could achieve that with the stock i5. A 780Ti would be perfect but I couldn't and wouldn't pay in excess of £200 above a 780. Maybe I shouldn't say this but if you order a GTX780 from PC Specialist it's £429 however if you order it as an upgrade it drops to £389. But anyway I would be looking at a pre-overclocked GTX780 with a maximum budget of £400 but it will be about another Month at least until I can afford one.

60 - 80 frames a second on ultra settings 1080 BF4 seems great if I could achieve that with the stock i5.

Bear in mind I do have two GTX 670 in SLI which should be performing better than a GTX 780 would. That said, I turned off SLI and was getting 45-60 fps, so you would probably be alright.
I have never seen any evidence to suggest a i7 provides significantly better fps than i5.
