New PC

This is my first PC from these guys, my last one was over 5 years old and just a basic pc to do the everyday stuff on (it cost me around £125.00).
Ideally i want to run VM ware on the pc, i also play the star wars games, and looking to do other stuff using VM.
This is way more than what i have ever had before.
I would apreciate comments on what you all think.

I would strongly recommend getting some help on your spec, your motherboard could do with being a X570 with a 5800X CPU, not sure why you have an extra monitor lead? (monitor will come with leads anyway) and im not sure what your aim is with the case.

The headset, monitor, speakers.... you can do a lot better looking elsewhere for these, and if you are getting them to game with, they arent great choices anyway.

If the main aim is virtual machines, i'm curious about CPU choice vs budget, realistically, a 5600x and build around that fits the above pricepoint much better than a 5800X where parts are having to be cut back. What is your actual budget?

Hi there @ sibun1 , thanks for the reply. I only play Star Wars games and I want to play Pinball tables on the PC. I tried a few years ago (over 5 years) to run PinMame, Virtual pinball on the PC but I could not get it to work, so I am looking to run pinball games on it without any problems.

Regarding the monitor lead that was a mistake that has been removed now.

This is a complete new area for me as all my previous PC’s were of the counter and very basic, not specialised.

Budget not set as such, I got the idea of the set up listed from a guy on a chat server, so it may need tweaks as you suggest.

If I can DM you about other items then that would be of help.

Thanks.

Hey man, I've done some changes to your build:

First of all I changed your case with one that gives you 3 front fans already included and much better airflow (you want your parts to stay cool), changed your CPU to the 5600X which is great, changed your GPU to the 2060 which is more future proof, being the 1050TI a bit old, changed up your PSU with the RMX 850, changed up your storage settings and your CPU cooler.

I removed the OS, since if you already have a PC running Windows 10 you can transfer your license to it. If you don't, feel free to add it back (or you could find license elsewhere at much cheaper cost)

I removed the monitor, the headset and the speakers. You can find much better stuff at almost same price.

I changed up your warranty to the silver one, which for a penny more gives you the rest your mind needs

@AleTax, thanks for this, regarding the monitor, speakers and headsets what would you recommend?
Let me know if i can PM you.
Cheers.
John
You can PM me, but it's good to keep the conversation here since other users might as well find useful and helpful the information given here.

But the most important questions are before I can help you further is: how much do you want to spend on monitor, speakers and headset? Do you already have a keyboard and a mouse?

Yes i have keyboard and mouse, both USB connections to old PC, i assume that these work well so not selected new ones, as for the rest, like i said erlier the monitor, speakers and desktop are well over 5 years old, maybe nearer 8-10.

No idea, this will be my first real spend on a PC so i want it to last a good while. Just ran the specs on the website and i need to be sure which drive to install the operating medium without slowing down the PC.

You'll want to have the OS installed on the M.2 SSD drive, which is the fastest in your build.

As for the monitor: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-VG240YSbmiipx-Gaming-Monitor-FreeSync/dp/B08NCWF34R
This is a 24 inch model, not sure if you want a bigger screen. Comes for a good price and has good specs as well.

Headset: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Razer-Virtual-Surround-Cross-Platform-Compatibility/dp/B07RMBB4HM
This is definitely better than what you were picking, for around the same price

Speakers: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-980-001202-SPEAKER-SPRINGST-GIFTBOX-Black/dp/B00YR92T90

But as said, without a max budget, specs you'd like, screen dimension etc, it can be hard to get the perfect pair. Nevertheless, this will do the job

For £4 it's worth upgrading to the PCS M.2 SSD rather than the SATA one. It's much faster (and tidier in the case as well, FWIW).

I have never had a monitor that big before, speakers look great, and the headset looks good.
I am asuming that the specs you chose for the PC build would easily run VM machine on it?

Indeed it will. Don't know why but the configurator didn't let me add another M.2 SSD lmao

@sck451 , thanks for that, i am glad i posted the original specs on here. I welcome the fine tuning regarding the details. I want to run VM on the machine as well as play the games. Pinball was the trickiest to load on my "old" PC as i could not get PinMAME, or visual Pinball to load or run, and therefore could not play pinball on the PC.

While I'd be surprised if it couldn't run it, that's not software I'm at all familiar with, so I wouldn't want to promise out of my own ignorance...

Could have simply been a software issue, or that the PC didn't have a dedicated GPU and so couldn't run graphical games.
