New streaming PC!

The initial post has been updated with the final spec of the PC.
I can’t advise intel over AMD unless it is a 400F build, but if you are set on it... so be.
But... you have selected 2 3rd gen SSD’s in your M.2, the 4th gen Firecuda isn’t much more if i recall. A 980/cuda as a primary and a corsair/970 secondary would be much more suitable.

Out of interest would there be any benefit in changing the mobo to the ASUS® ROG STRIX X299-E GAMING II?
Strix is a higher quality board and will have better VRM’s etc, so can handle the insane heat being put out by the i9 (which runs outrageously hot). If it isn’t cooled enough, it will throttle.

OK, I've got a decent cooler for the CPU (I think!) but the upgrade to Strix was basically the same amount that I saved by dropping to a 3070 so may as well!

Just so you’re aware, for streaming intel really sucks. It sucks generally but for streaming even more so, really bad choice.

So what mobo and AMD CPU would you recommend? I can't be bothered with the faff of cancelling but if I speak to PCS direct they may amend it for me.

5800X and the Tuf X570 will be plenty for streaming. The luxury build would be the 5900X and the Strix X570, but that's probably overkill.

You can then add a PCIe4 boot drive as well, for extra performance -- either the Firecuda or the 980.

So I can get this, for £200 cheaper than my current build. Same build but with a 5800X, the 5900X is in budget but there's long wait times for that one?

Up the ram to 3600mhz and swap the m.2’s around, you want the faster 980 pro as your primary and the cuda as your secondary. Other than that... was better than the intel build.

Also, the 5800X is a monster at gaming and streaming. 5900X is better if you’re into all your video editing etc also, but there is a waiting list.

Ok, so if I can cancel, this is the final spec I'm going for for £2,878. Changed the Firecuda for a 970 as it means I can get an extra TB on the boot drive for the same price.

Look good?

Probably worth adding the AX200 wifi card and a warranty, i’d suggest gold for this sort of build, but silver should be enough.

To be honest, I may take the Wifi card out completely, I never use Wi-fi on my desktop and if I have an emergency need for it I have a USB wi-fi adapter I use but appreciate the info. Yes, good warranty is a good shout!

Fingers crossed PCS will let me either cancel or amend my existing order. It's still only in pre-production as until this morning it had a 3080 in it so hopefully...
