DVD drive caused computer to fail booting, no idea why but need to setup windows first to test it again.
Keyboard causes computer to restate (same thing happens with my old computer meaning it's actually fine, just the keyboard broke)
Bought a cheap keyboard now to try it with that fingers crossed

nice specs. how long did it take for your order to complete? cud u reply with the dates..like when it ended pre production, went into building etc etc

Ok, its now booted up and working to some extent but i have a fair few problems, hoping you guys can help me out.

Firstly the dvd drive causes the computer to fail powering up. if i leave it unplugged it boots fine, if power the dvd drive, the computer cannot power up.

Secondly the card is no recognising my second screen and wont let me push the resolution above 1280x1024 despite both screens being correctly plugged in an 1680x1024 screens.

thirdly the computers overclocking settings have reset due to the fault finding i had over the phone with technical help - ive been supplied with the specs to revert it back but i know im gonna struggle.

fourthly there doesnt seem to be an LED light on the side fan despite seeing that on the case description pictures..(oh and no led on top fan despite being shown in description pictures)

and finally aparently pcspecialist cannot aid me with this problem due to the fact the dvddrive is my own.

i dont mind buying a new dvd drive but i cant be sure that the same thing will happen. maybe the dvd drive is fine and i just installed it incorrectly? can anyone help?

It is likely the comp is trying to boot off the dvd drive, even when no disc is inserted. Do you get a black screen with a white underscore flashing in top left? If so enter bios by tapping del key a few times after the beep, then, boot priorities in bios --> select the dvd drive and move it down below the boot drive, ssd or hdd w/e it is. So make sure the hdd is in boot slot 1. If it still doesnt work, drive is incompatible with pc.

Led fans: The pics are usually provided by the case manufacturer and dont represent the base product, however usually u get one led fan atleast.

Oc settings are quite easy to reset, i guess u did a bios update which reset them? That may have reset ur fan's auto control too, if theyre v noisy now that needs reenabling too. XMP (xtreme memory profile) will also need re-setting probably if you have 1333/1600mhz RAM or higher. This can be shown through pics but im on iphone at uni atm so thats a no go right now im afraid.

Everyone's build is different, and depends on how many orders went through before yours. Keep an eye on your emails ;)

hey cheers for reply.

about the dvd drive, no it doesnt boot at all, doesnt try to boot doesnt get that far!

if the dvd drive is plugged in, and i press the power button, the fans begin to turn for a split second then stop, nothing happens no noise no boot =)

no idea but assume from what your saying is its outdated or not compatible with the system, if so ill buy a new one

Ok i think i got most stuff sorted now then.

i followed the overclocking settings i was sent and i think i done it right.. not sure why the DRAM frquency is set to 1603mhz though when they are 2000mhz sticks?

ill upload a few pics check first post for them when im done.

could somone tell me what type of dvd drive i need (one that is compatible with this system) so i can buy it and start installing all my crap asap.

Dram freq is not set to xmp thats why. Pm me and ill try find out why ur drive doesnt work (send me make and model of drive)ill also show u how to get ur ram bk to 2000mhz

i am doing same thing, - didnt order dvd drive with pc system as i will be using my dvd-rom drive and cd-r/rw drive unit from my old pc. both of them say the manufacture date = sep.2002. i hope i dont have problem where it will not work.

mine was manufactured in 2001, so not sure if you will or not cannot say for certain.i cant even say for certain that i installed it correctly because i havnt done it before, just used logic and common sense but didnt prevail. im assuming from Slein's help theyr just not compatible and need patching to work with it (which i cant do with lack of a 2nd computer) - so if you do have the same problem, its likely fixable with some patching of the drive from another computer.

im just going to buy an external one to avoid the trouble, i dont use the drive for any excessive burning or writing anyway, just the odd game installation.
