Oh dear...iv just deleted 2TB worth of data...HELP

i just some click the wrong button and loss 2TB worth of data... it was on a external hdd and just turned it and and went to join the two paritions and then after it reached 100% it said i must format...is there ny way of getting it bck as i cant loss this data it taken my 1yr or so to edit ect

Try this free recovery utility.

if it succeeds in finding any files restore them to a different drive.
Failing this there are other recovery programs you could try,but Recuva is probably the best free one.

If none of those work and the data is really important, you could buy one of the allegedly more advanced recovery programs,some of them allow you to try a demo first,which should tell you if any files can be recovered,before you buy.
Whatever you do,don't write anything to the drive you want to recover files from,as this will overwrite files making it impossible to recover them.
