What I'm wondering is first, is this upgrade worth and would I notice a big difference and also would the newer PC be good enough to stream on? Thanks!

Stream, as in you will be broadcasting your gameplay to Twitch, Youtube, etc?

Any other uses e.g. video editing? What software?

What monitor are you gaming on? What is the resolution and refresh rate?

What is the budget? What price did that system come to?

Yeah twitch, YouTube and mixer using streamlabs obs. I do wanna use it for graphic design too, I have photoshop, illustrator and Sony Vegas. I’m not sure the refresh rate but I believe it’s 1920 x 1080 or something. Budget around £1759

I don't think either system is particularly well balanced or suited. It's a shame to be needing an upgrade so soon, the system doesn't appear to be that old? Some better initial selections would have made all the difference for now.

Getting the system right this time and spending in the right areas will pay dividends down the line.

Below would be a decent starting point.

If you're getting seriously into editing then a 3900X with a X570 motherboard and 32GB of RAM might be warranted. It all depends what sort of level of editing you are looking at. For 1080p there's no point spending more money on the GPU. Save the money for a GPU upgrade down the line. The rest of the system will last years.

Thank you, but this doesn’t seem much better than my current one? I’ve had it for over 3 years and it’s really struggling. I can’t even stream games like minecraft anyway which have super low requirements.

It's miles better than your current PC. Why would you think it isn't?

Streaming is extremely demanding on the CPU. This is because you are telling your CPU to run a game and encode video at the same time. Your i5 6600 has 4 cores and 4 'threads'. The R7 3700x has 8 cores and 16 threads. For multitasking (like gaming and streaming together) it is vastly more powerful than your current CPU.

The GTX 1660 Super is much faster than the 1060 3gb (1660 Super is like what a GTX 1070 was like, but half the price). And if you are only gaming on a 1080p monitor, there is no point to anything better than a GTX 1660 Super.

If you have a ~£1700 budget what you can do is buy a beefy PC like the above and a better monitor to go with it.

So this is @Scott's spec but with a 1440p 144hz monitor, and an appropriate graphics card for the new monitor:

Those aren't good or appropriate changes for your uses. The CPU you have chosen makes absolutely ZERO difference to gaming. The 3700X is ideally suited for ALL gaming (1080p through 4k). The CPU isn't the key to gaming, it's the GPU. You want to match the GPU with the output to your screen. The 3600 handles your gaming needs, the only reason for the 3700X (as described) is due to your streaming needs.

For gaming at 1080p the spec I already configured is as good as it gets. For gaming at 1440p the changes Oussebon made, along with the recommendation of a good 1440p monitor, are spot on.

The ONLY reason to consider a different CPU is with regards to the professional applications, rendering and other CPU intense processes. It doesn't matter a jot to your gaming needs. With the different CPU you need a different motherboard and if it's THAT important you're going to need 32GB of RAM.

To meet in the middle I would suggest purchasing the spec listed by Oussebon completely as it is, it'll blow your mind.

Ok thank you I think I’ll go for that, would upgrading to 32GB RAM not be worth?

Why drop the M2 drive back down to 128GB? With so little room on it, you could find yourself constantly moving files around to create space...at the very least, get the 512GB which is only £26 more for more than triple the space.
I’m not sure, my current PC only has a 1TB hard drive with no SSD, this new one would have 2TB plus 128 for windows to be installed on. But I’m guess by how surprised you were SSD would make a big difference if I installed games and such it in.

For gaming, stream, and casual video editing, no.

But I’m guess by how surprised you were SSD would make a big difference if I installed games and such it in.
You want a reasonably large SSD for Windows, programs, and favourite games.

How’s this? If I save for the monitor and get it after.
How long after until you have £400-ish for the monitor?

Ima just ask a couple more questions that are on my mind.

Is the thermal paste upgrade for only £9 not worth it?

I’ve always wanted duel monitors, but since my old one is 1920 x 1080 will it still be ok? Could I use it for stream chat and such?

I obviously already have my 1TB hard drive with my stuff in from my old pc, is this a hard task to transfer?

Could we reset a little. What is your budget? It seems to change every post and I'm struggling to keep up.

If you go for the build listed by Oussebon it already has the monitor with it?

Are you looking so save more money on the system? I'm a little confused as you are asking about spending more on things that don't matter yet don't want to save that money and put it towards a good monitor?

There are 2 solid options on the table. A 1080p system that will work with the monitor you have performing admirably for the foreseeable future, or a 1440p system, including monitor upgrade, that will work along with your current monitor allowing for dual screen.

My budget is max 1800, I just want a pc that can play and stream high and games on high graphic good fps and for basic video editing.

Then get a system that already has a powerful GPU, and the monitor, for £1800-ish:

Buying a really powerful GPU you can't use for a few months (because of not being able to buy an appropriate monitor) is bad value. Because you're missing out on what the GPU has to offer, and by the time you can 'unlock' that with a decent monitor, new GPUs will probably have come out anyway. So you won't be using the potential of your (e.g.) RTX 2070 Super until it's already last generation.

The RX 5700 XT is only a few £ more than the RTX 2060 Super, but is quite a bit more powerful. It is a very good 1440p gaming GPU, and the spec below includes a decent 1440p monitor.

The R7 3700x will do very well for streaming and gaming. 1TB SSD should be plenty for games to start you off.

And the cooling from the case and the CPU cooler should be very good too.
