PC Won't Boot Into Windows

I've just moved my pc from my girlfriends house over to my house as I was forced to stay there for a week. Computer was running fine at hers and set it up here a couple of hours ago.
When i first started it up the pc booted fine, i got a POST beep (single beep) and then it went onto an American Megatrends screen saying "The data in the EC or EC flash might be corrupt". I googled this and the reccomended course of action was to remove CMOS battery for five minutes to reset settings. This got rid of the screen so I went into the BIOS to reset defaults as I hadnt changed anything previously (No OC).

I exited BIOS and it came up with windows error recovery screen, i selected last good configuration and it goes to Windows Is Starting screen. The red and yellow orbs appear then my pc reboots.
I tried an alternative drive which has windows XP on that got to the same point and rebooted. I've also put my hard drive in a different pc and it wont boot in that either.
The BIOS picks up any drive I put in my pc, but none will boot successfully.

Im thinking it will be a motherboard problem as i've ruled out what I think it every other possibility.

Should I request an RMA for the whole system?
Bit of a bummer since i really wanted to play GRFS :(

Do you still have the manual of your motherboard to identify the meaning of the beep?
The HDD you try was from another computer? different motherboard drivers installed?

Its the regular single beep that I get when it boots normally. I lost the manual but downloaded it again from the ASUS website, and it confirms it is a normal POST beep.
Motherboard is P8Z68-v lx by the way.

I've noticed on bootup there is a red light on mem ok on the motherboard. Possible ram issue?

Press & hold the mem ok switch until the led starts blinking, then release,
this should begin automatic memory tuning.
failing that try reseating ram sticks &/or trying them one at a time.

Tried both ram sticks individually and pressed the mem ok switch, still got a boot failure.
POST beep is the one with no errors.
I am literally stuck on what could be wrong with it. :(

I have tried everything now.
Installed Ubuntu onto a USB and I can boot into that, i can view all the files on my hard drive and the other drive I have installed.
Installed Ubuntu from USB onto second hard drive, computer will not boot into Ubuntu, gets to what I assume is the login screen and video goes liney when mouse is in top corner.
Booted without graphics card in and video coming from iGPU, still not booting.

I've reset CMOS by removing battery, and alternately my switching the jumper switch over for 10 seconds, still no success.

Will ring PCS tomorrow morning and probably go for an RMA as I assume motherboard (?) has somehow broken.

Going from Windows flash screen to reboot would normally indicate the processor is overheating.
Try cold reboot with the side off, and watch if any fans are dud.

Every fan is working, and they are all picked up in the bios (ones that are connected to mobo).
I am literally stumped with what is wrong. CPU isnt overheating as I can run ubuntu from a USB for over 3 hours without problem, but cant install to HDD. :(

sounds like hdd passed away mate,

infact try that hdd on another sata port on the mobo., (one that works on other drive) to rule out if the drive or the sata port is faulty

then give pcs a bell they will sort you out

So it's working at your girlfriends.
It's not working now.
The event that killed it was moving, which suggests either something loose or damaged in transit.Really unlucky if hdd was stuffed just by moving.
Suppose you could always try it back at your girlfriend's.:)

The HDD is accessible through ubuntu live cd, and access times are as fast as before.
It wont boot my second HDD with ubuntu, it restarts at the login screen.

My windows 7 HDD will not boot fully in my pcspecialist PC or my old dell pc.
My ubuntu HDD will not boot fully in my pcspecialist PC but will boot on my old dell pc.
My live cd works perfectly on both.

I dont even know what is up anymore.
