PCIe 3.0 - compatible motherboard? [geforce 660ti][ASUS m/b]

Hey folks,

I bought my latest desktop from PC Specialist in Sept '10, and it came with this motherboard: ASUS® P6X58D-E: DDR3, USB 3.0, SATA 6.0GB/s, 3-Way SLI.

I would now like to upgrade my graphics card (formerly 1GB ATI RADEON™ HD 5770 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11) to an nVidia Geforce 660ti.

I gather the 660ti is a PCIe 3.0 card. Question is, therefore, would it be compatible on my motherboard?

Are there any other considerations I should bear in mind?

Looks like it doesn't support PCIe 3.0, so you'll need to get a Z77 motherboard if you want PCIe 3.0

it would still work perfectly fine, as far as I know, but it wouldnt be ideal for running two 660's.

The card is backward compatible to PCIe 2.0.

There shouldn't be a significant difference in performance between x16 PCIe 2.0 vs x16 PCIe 3.0
