Looks like you don't need our help since you just build a fantastic PC for your needs!

Welcome to our forums :)

The specification you have selected looks great, and is fairly well balanced. However, I have a few suggestions:

1. Keep the specification as it is rather than changing to a i7-930 with 24GB RAM, as this will be unbalanced (lower CPU with lots of RAM).

2. You mentioned that your hard drive is always full - therefore I would recommend going for a 1TB hard drive (or 3 x 1TB). They won't cost much more, and will be more future proof because data sizes are constantly increasing.

Hey,

I have taken a look at your specification for you. As LDUK says, the specification is pretty much spot on!

One thing I would mention is to not downgrade the CPU to allow for more RAM as I really can't see anything pushing the 12GB RAM you already have. I would also change to the Samsung RAM rather than the Kingston as the Samsung is much more stable. Plus if you change the order to 12GB Samsung 1333 (3 x 4GB) if you ever need 24GB RAM, there will be ample room to upgrade in the future.

Apart from that, there isn't really much I would change!

thanks everyone,i started with just 3x2 gig ram you get so close to it never noticed that the samsung ram left 3 empty ram slots!!
will change at least one data drive to 1TB
changing case to corsair 600t £139, because of heat isses & do not want aggressive led type case! (esp red) hope delivery comes
hope that it will not be that much noisier as much prefer computer in main room than in cupboard.

wow started of not too bad now its costing a small country, but rather that than be disappointed

If the editing programs support CUDA then most definately yes.

And im still missing the point in our collective geek history when heat and power usage became a bad thing.

Heat = Power, agreeing with Gorman here.

It's so useful having a heater next to me in winter, especially as we're not great fans of heating in winter as its an oil tank = expensive :p

I know CS5 programs support CUDA. You may have to edit the card support list, but that's easy as pie and well worth it!
