Looking for a new build after my last PC specialist rig has been with me for 5 years. I’m quite out of touch with specs etc right now, but any advice around this spec or recommendations for something better/more efficient would be appreciated!
Budget of around £3000. Using for gaming with

ASUS TUF VG32VQ1BR 31.5'' Curved Gaming Monitor

Thank you!

Edit: I am aware of a single M2 drive being insufficient but I have 2x 2TB Samsung SSDs in my current build that I will transfer over.

Ok first bit of advise, give the link below a read, second bit of advise, especially the AMD v intel section

And precisely what 32" 165Hz Asus monitor? The resolution is the crucial missing information.

Like I said, I’m pretty out of touch with PC builds, I’ve just always had intel processors, so an open to suggestions!

My bad.

ASUS TUF VG328H1B Full HD 31.5” Curved VA LCD Gaming Monitor - Black
Well with £3k to play with I'm sure we can put a nice AMD 1440p build together that will give enough cash for a monitor to suit it rather than that 1080p

OK, so that's not a great monitor. It's only 1080p resolution, which is really low and not ideal for gaming. It's really not a great option for you. The 3080 Ti is a massive waste for it.

So I'd advise buying a new monitor. Your choices really are to go for a UWQHD monitor (1440p ultrawide) and a top-tier build, or a 4K monitor and a slightly compromised build to get near the budget. I'd suggest the former as by far the better option.

Let's presume you will spend £435 on the AOC CU34G2X. You could then go for this AMD build, with the 5900X and a 3070:

OK, so we've crossed posts! It's not a great monitor (32" is really still too big for 1440p) but it's not the end of the world. You could upgrade or you could stick with that monitor. To match it, I'd go for the exact same build as I posted, but you could swap in the 3060 Ti graphics card instead. It would be completely fine for 1440p.

I only got the monitor in January so prefer not to replace it again so soon, but would do in the future. Ideally want this build to last me 5 years again, like my current one, so a monitor upgrade could come before the end of its lifespan.

That makes total sense. I'd go for the 3060 Ti for now, and maybe in a year or two upgrade both monitor and graphics card together. The base build should be fine for at least five years.

The irony of the Intel option is that you are probably upgrading from Intel's 6th gen (a 6700K or suchlike?), which is a remarkably similar architecture to the modern-day 11th gen.

You’re absolutely correct. I currently have a base 1080 and intel 6700. Just feeling outdated the last 6 months. Absolutely happy to go to AMD, I have no preference, just a creature of habit!

I'd definitely go for the build I recommended, then, with the 3060 Ti. It will do you proud, if you upgrade the graphics card in, say, two or three years' time. That's a way better choice than splurging £1500 on a 3080 Ti in the hope it will still be good in five years' time. Ironically, the 3060 Ti isn't a massive upgrade on the 1080 (a reasonable bit, but not a lot) but the build as a whole will feel loads better.

How is that £4 cheaper than the 2nd build from @sck451 ? The only change I can see is a bigger power supply.

I did wonder after i posted if i was seeing things...... If you remember at one point we had a similar thing where 3070Ti was about £6 cheaper than a 3070
