I am really confused. Apparently the PS4 will have 8GB GDDR5 RAM, which I thought was limited to the GPU, and I cant find any GPUs with 8GB vRAM other than "Nvidia Tesla" cards that cost like £3,000. Someone then mentioned to me the RAM is "unified" what does this mean? Does this mean the system and GOU pull memory from the same location? Really confusing for a tech newb like myself

The memory of the card itself would be around 2gb of ddr3 I imagine. The GDDR5 RAM is 8gb yes. Also Unified would mean half is allocated to gaming and the other half would be for UI and utilities.

I just don't get along with PS controllers, and the new one is worse than the PS3 controller. I'll stick with Xbox.

Looks very impressive. There were some comments before the announcement that the h/w spec wouldn't be that great and it would be more around the playing experience, but looking over the info that just seems to have been FUD.

That said, I am unlikely to be getting a next gen console -- apart from having just ordered a PSC super shiny, I've never been able to get to grips (no pun intended) with the console controllers -- I'm pretty much tied to mouse and keyboard.

Will be watching developments with interest though

I will be buying one to play the game - the last of us and outher ps4 exclusives however whats up with the controller images I have seen so far... why would you change something thats not broken and has worked years :/

I dont see the big fuss. Whats really changed? A touch pad? Wow Ive been using the one on my Vita with no issues. Its adds to the fun.

Why does the controller have bubble wrap on? is it to cushion the blows from your forehead as you smack the controller into it when you have to deal with all the kids on CoD?

The controller just looks...dull. You dont have to reinvent the wheel every generation but at least try and make it look a lil bit different (see PS to PS2...or Game Cube to, well, anything...that thing was awful).

I don't know why I am bothered, its not like I am going to go out and join the console monkeys, but for all the technical stuff, I just want all of our lil simian friends to have something pretty to play with

That "bubble wrap" is just the circle, square, triangle, cross patterb on a smooth surface. The same as the back of a vita. Thatll be your touch pad.
