Hi, any advice appreciated. I'm especially concern about enough Watts in power supply, and 'overkill' items. This is cap of my budget. I'm not planning to play super high end games on best performance setting, but want really nice setting on civ, wow, crusader King 3, wolfenstein etc.

I have well functional monitor and Happy to stick with just this one unless there is some compatibility issue. Thanks.

Hi there, for a gaming load this build is a little unbalanced if you don't plan to stream or edit and the wireless network card and sound card would definetly be considered 'overkill'. With the money saved you'd definetly be able to upgrade your PSU. You've also said that this build is the cap of your budget, but not included a link or the full build. Would you be able to provide this (link on how to do this here)

Once we know a budget and have a link, we'd be happy to get this build set right for you!

Ok going on the build I posted above and your comment about having additional SSD drives I've removed the mechanical hard drive from my build.

I've left both the NVMe drives in the build, as these are still significantly faster than SSD drives.

Also forgot to mention that I didn't include additional fans, as what's included with the case, together with the 2 fans on the AIO cooler will be more than sufficient.

Build cost is now £1,665 and link to updated build below

Makes total sense, really appreciate your time. I'm wondering, do you guys know what is the waiting time on the RTX? I heard it can get crazy long?

Thanks to your changes I coul in theory squeeze in AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.6GHz/70MB CACHE/AM4) instead. Would it make sense for this build? Don't want buy an not use the potential haha. I might be able upgrade monitors/additional graphics in future.

From a gaming perspective the 5600x will outperform the 3900x.

If you are thinking about changing your monitor, then presuming you mean to go to 2560x1440, the important question is when, as that is key to any advice on gpu's that I would offer. I'm almost tempted to drop the 3060 and go for a lesser card on that information.

If you are looking to replace your monitor within next 6 months then I wouldn't be recommending a 1080p card in your present build. However that will significantly increase the budget required. Going for the 6700xt would increase the cost to £1,760. A 3070 would increase cost to over £1,900. Removing the RGB elements of both the ram and additional lighting with a 6700xt would bring the cost to £1,726.

If between 6 and 12 months I'd probably say save your money and go for a 2060 and then upgrade your gpu when you get the new monitor.

A 2560x1440 monitor will likely cost £300/350

Edit: just realised you have additional shipping costs in your build, so all my quoted figures need to be increased by £12

I'm thinking Ryzen 7 5800, as it's a manageable price difference for me. Other than that it hopefully looks OK.

If you go for the 5800x it would be worth upgrading the motherboard to a 570 series and you definitely neEd more cooling. The biggest Corsair Elite Cappelix you can fit in the case. This makes the upgrade cost a bit more than the difference between the CPU prices.

I’d be tempted to switch to the TD500 instead of the current case, I have no idea what the front mounting system is like in that K500 and the TD500 would likely provide better airflow anyway. I’d also swap to 1LED strip instead of 2 (although that’s a real nitpick). Otherwise, looks like a lovely build!

Is there any particular reason behind your want for a high end CPU? Will you be video editing, streaming, or using it for something that uses a multi core load? Gaming is focused on Single core uses and the 5600X is a fantastic chip for gaming (I want to say it one Gamers Nexus all round CPU last year).

As Stevey has pointed out, it’d more than just increase the cost of the build by the price of the CPU, you’d need a better cooler which would be at least another £62 and an X570 motherboard for £50. If you have the budget, you’re welcome to but it’d be nice to know if theres reason behind the want to upgrade.

After your explanation there's no reason in my mind for R7 haha. Thanks for the info. And will swap the case, as it was only my wild guess and happy for informed choice now.

Cheers for the additional comments Junior, my knowledge on cases is limited to Lian Li, and I recall various threads on here about fitting of AIO's in various cases, but the names are all so similar to me, they just become a blur o_O hence the need for someone with more experience to guide the OP

Sweet, glad to hear although @ColEyt did most of the leg work here!

That’s okay! You already had a sweet build for OP. And with AIO’s the configurator will tell you if they don’t fit (ie you try a 280mm in a case that only fits a 240). I’m sure the 240mm AIO would fit in the K500 but with less fans and more covered front, I think it’d just be a worse case for cooling (not to also mention I think it’s ugly as heck). The only difference is if the customer wants RGB RAM which might interfere with top rad placement (which isn’t the end of the world, just having it at the top gives a cleaner look) in which case I know that the Corsair 4000 and 5000 series allow it so I tend to try and stick to them! And yeah, especially with the Corsair AIO naming system, that’s one to get your head around!
