Hey, originally I was going to purchase the Skyfire, but I didn't have enough money when it was in stock and I decided it looked a little too bulky for me anyway, so now I'm looking at the Vortex II. I'll be using this laptop for gaming, video editing, watching movies, excel work and general internet browsing. I'm not too bothered about being able to play on the very best settings, I'd just like to be able to play new releases for a couple of years on medium settings. I'm pretty sure this spec is what I'm after, but I thought I may as well get your opinions before ordering it. My budget is already stretched right out as initially I was only looking to spend about £1000. Also, I'm after a good wireless keyboard which is preferably no more than £20 and has a tiny dongle, so if you've got any recommendations they would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Well i wouldn't recommend you cut anything from that spec for your intended uses, otherwise you will start to loose performance for the fairly intensive tasks you have lined up.

It's probably bang on what i would have specced for you really. Enjoy it.

I would of if there was a larger standard 7200rpm HDD; the Hybrid version is considerably more expensive. I figured I can just order another one when I come to need it anyway. Are they simple enough to fit in yourself? Or would I need to get PCS to do it for me?

With the Vortex II: 17.3" it should be quite easy to add a second hard drive,
probably just a matter of taking a plate off the back.
