Potential HDD Failure

Got greeted with this message this morning on boot:


Port 6: ST3320813AS
S.M.A.R.T status bad, backup and replace


Any ideas?

EDIT: If a HDD is to fail I seriously hope its not the Caviar Black, and is more likely to be my 300GB HDD from my old PC.

Ah right yeah I think the ST33BLAHBLAH is the old HDD. Nothing too important on there I was just using it as a back up. I'm guessing the WDC drive is my Caviar too so that's good.

Get hold of HDTune from http://www.hdtune.com/. It will let you view the SMART data and it will test and benchmark your HDD.

The ST33 hard drive is a Seagate I think and yes the WD(1002FAEX for the 1TB will be the Caviar black.
You can run the diagnostic programs from manufacturers websites to check the status of your drives,but the S.M.A.R.T warning is usually spot on.
