There are some elements I'd change, even without knowing your usage, but if you can tell us your usage (gaming, video/photo editing, LLM, AI, rendering, etc.) we'll have a better idea if it will suit.

Also, can you post the FULL spec (including the config link), and the make/model (or resolution/refresh rate) of the monitor(s) you'll be using.

Too many fans can be an issue if they're not configured properly, as they'll just cause noise and won't cool it any better. But the AIO cooler can't really be 'too much' as a larger one can be run on a very quite/slow setting to keep it silent whilst offering the same cooling power.

Depending on the budget I'd probably go to at least the newer Capellix version of the AIO, as they have the same AF fans you've chosen (makes profiles/RGB more consistent).

With a big case like that, you may have lots of cables for all those fans, so if the budget is there I'd suggest going for an all iCUE Link build where the fans/AIO are connected to a single hub and then attach to each other by connectors in the fans/AIO instead of separate cables.

We wouldn't recommend a Prime motherboard for a gaming PC as it doesn't have the quality components required to keep the system stable. The Tuf level is about the lowest we'd suggest.

It's a 1440p 144Hz VA monitor, thought it was a bit odd when it said 1440p 120Hz, don't think they exist.
I may have the wrong model listed as I simply found that in my email history for a price drop. It's 100% a 120Hz version that I have. I'll try to find the actual order from years ago and check it.

It will state the model on the monitor, usually on the rear

But I don’t think 1440p 120hz was ever a thing, 120hz usually denotes 4k.

Modern Consoles are limited to 120hz, if you’re coming from console perhaps that’s the confusion?

it’s really important we know the exact make and model as it does rather influence the build. If it’s a TN panel for instance, it just needs to be replaced as it’s going to ruin any modern system

Thanks for the input - the previous system I had came with an iCUE Hub (6 nodes) but never actually worked properly so I ended up abandoning the RGB there and adding in my own fans with splitters etc.
I'll dig into the iCUE options here and other elements of your recommendations.

OK it is the CQ32G1 and further ID info is Q40G32N-615-60A So it is a ZA Panel with the following max:

SCREEN SIZE (INCH)
31.5
MAX REFRESH RATE
144 Hz
I've never run it over 120Hz

So that’s a very budget monitor, it’s going to suffer enormously from screen tearing and ghosting.

If you really want to pair a 3090 for 1440p, you really need a monitor to show those benefits. These days I would say HDR1000 is a basic necessity, especially with a game like Cyberpunk that really utilises it well.

Doesn’t matter how good the PC is, or how much you spend on it, the end display is all down to the monitor, if you’ve got it paired with a poor monitor, the experience is going to be limited by that

Its also very large for 1440p to the point where you’re going to see pixels and picture will lose sharpness as a result.

I agree it's a very basic monitor as I was very much sparing the expense when I bought it. That's something I'd improve in the future, once I have a functioning PC!
