Processor cooler concern

Graphics - I currently have a GTX 1080 in my computer, which seems fine. I just thought I may as well upgrade while I can and hopefully it will last me a long time. It's the first time I'll have built a computer and I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon.

PSU - that sounds good, its a shame there isn't a 650w that I can have in the RMx. I know they do on Amazon but on pcspecialist site they start from 750w.

What AMD would you suggest above the i5? Although it doesn't seem that I can change that now, only Intel's are listing in my order.

I would honestly drop the GPU in that case and use your current one. You're getting no meaningful upgrade from the 1080 to the 2060. They are both high end 1080p gaming cards, getting on for 1440p also.

This would save you a significant wedge of cash for no performance hit.

If you have Windows 10 you can transfer the license also. You can get a very high end rig for a very good price if you spend wisely :)

You would need to cancel your order and re-create a new order. What is your budget?

I'm going to try and cancel my order. Please advice which AMD is suggested, I want something that is going to be fast for a long time and not end up slow in a year or so

Thanks @Nursemorph a few things

What benefit of picking Ryzen 5 over 7?
I'd rather buy the graphics card and have it fitted, since I'm technically useless and don't want to mess it up trying to install it myself. I would just sell the one I have now on ebay.
Would you still pick the H100i over the Noctua? Does the liquid require maintence, also which is the quiestest?
For wireless i just picked Lan port as I don't use wireless for my Desktop PC.
You changed the USB option but I need at least one thunderbolt 3 connection.

I would swap things round a little to eek a little more performance out of the budget. I've selected the LianLi but unsure of exactly what limitations you have. The Define 7 Compact looks like one of the best engineered cases I've ever seen. You would need to tie in with PCS to see how comfortable they would be with the chosen components fitting though.

This smashes the i5 out of the park by the way.

It's a HUGE outlay to a GPU for the sake of a power plug and a screw to be honest. I would seriously use the budget on the rest of the system over a GPU that isn't really required. Up to yourself though, you're not going to get a lot for it on ebay.

H100i is a far better performer than the Noctua over long runs. No maintenence at all required. They are both near silent. The H100i will aid arflow though.

With the USB. Are you confusing usb-c with thunderbolt?

USB-C, you didn't choose it on yours I was just saying that I would need one of those.

Is this the fractal design define that was suggested? There seems to be a few variations and some dimensions are different. It needs to be the same sort of size as the mesh version to fit in the space I have https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fractal-De...ywords=define+7+compact&qid=1595247121&sr=8-7

There's one on the motherboard.

Just be aware that USB-C and Thunderbolt aren't quite the same thing. The B550 motherboard has a 3.1 USB-C port on the back of it.

If I bought my own case what USB options will I have? Will it just be what I choose so 1 USB-c and 1 USB-a? Or does it come with any others?
When I select a case on the site it says there are ports on the top of the box too. Will there be working ports on a case I buy myself of Amazon?

We love you Ukraine
That's a thunderbolt Interface, so USB C wouldn't be enough.

They will hook up all USB ports that are available.

Ah ok I'd like one with a window like the mesh version

You need to decide what is most important to you. Mesh and window means more noise, solid panel means less noise.

If you get a good handle on exactly what you want, where you are willing to compromise and what is most important we can help advise on the best options.

I could be wrong but I think you're back to Intel with that bombshell unfortunately. There may be a TB3 PCie card you can buy but I don't know of any options on PCS.

I assumed this would mean it would work as it was listed under usb/thunderbolt options
2 PORT (1 x TYPE A, 1 x TYPE C) USB 3.1 PCI-E CARD + STANDARD USB PORTS

It's not essential I was just hoping to be able to use the same audio interface which I use occasionally on my laptop to avoid swapping cables so much.

I definitely wouldn't presume that at all. It needs to actually state TB3 to be certified.

I think I'll go for that Fractal Design Define 7 Compact from Scan, and take Scotts advice on the rest just unsure about that processor cooler, I suppose I'm scared of a leakage and everything breaking at some point / it needing maintenance and not knowing what to do
