Quick Question: HDMI vs DVI-D?

I've just received my Iiyama pro gamer in the post and was wondering;

Will I get the best possible resolution / FPS / refresh rate with the HDMI or DVI-D cable they have provided?

I have been looking around but have yet to find a definitive answer.

Thanks!

I dont think it matters for the image quality. Not to my knowledge anyway.

if you didnt know, HDMI carries sound too, But DVI doesnt and requires another cable to take sound from the pc to the monitor, however, if you connect speakers directly to your system this doesnt matter.

OK, thanks.

Yeah, I use speakers so no need for audio to monitor.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that HDMI doesn't support 120hz refresh or any res above 1920 x 1080. I think I'll just use the DVI-D to be sure

Thanks for your response

If your monitor supports 1920 x 1200 or above,best with "Dual Link" DVI cable to get the full benefit,this wil probably be supplied with the Iiyama monitor if supported.
